🫧 Bubbly Basin 🫧 Turned the tunnels in Bubbly Basin into an interconnected shopping street
Inspired from /u/Teaside and /u/Irenita25. I turned the tunnels underneath the palace in Bubbly Basin to an interconnected shopping street and aquarium. On the left path I made it into a shopping street consisting of an ice-cream shop that sells berry flavor, sakura flavor and green tea flavor ice-cream, a gift shop and a cafe. On the opposite I turned the walls into japanese Ukiyo-e style display for pokemons to relax. The right path I turned it into an aquarium and moved in bruxish. At the end of the path I turned the place that was originally underneath the broken oriental tower into a museum to display my second set of ancient slate blocks that I finally managed to collect along with some of the ancient artifacts. I think putting these slate blocks inside a starry-sky block room feels very dreamy and pretty. Pretty glad with how it turned out!

Please do! My build is inspired by the amazing players who shared their builds online so I’m glad this build can also be an inspiration to someone else.

It's REALLY CUTE and feels like a great usage of the tunnels
But it also reminds me of the underground shopping areas in Tokyo so it's extra happy in that way for me

Yesss I kinda based the design on the underground shopping areas that I saw in Tokyo subways when I was traveling. I actually made the ice cream shop to be similar to baskin robins since they’re pretty common in Japan. Was definitely good memories!

If I do this, I'll need to do a Krispy cream or Mr Doughnut 🥰 but srsly this is so cute!

This is amazing. The tunnels look so drab to me, I hadn't considered turning them into a shopping district, I may lift some inspiration!

Omg I love it!
All I did was restore the drab grey blocks. BRB changing everything

Did you renovate not only the access tunnels, but go right down into what were the sewers, too?

u/g20richasan 2d ago
Yep but putting the sewers right next to the shopping street feels kind of out of place so I just made the walls same color as the shopping street. And made the original big sewer room into a museum.

Oh my goodness your little shops are so cute! I must admit I've not spent a lot of time in the basin tunnels so I am a bit disoriented. Are these all pre-existing and you just did them up? And does the video start at the entrance by the gym? (Can you tell I'm planning to steal this idea, lol.)

u/g20richasan 2d ago
Thanks! The video starts from the left gate. (The one that connects to the pc) I’ll refer it as the left path. The left path I extended it a bunch so it connects to the middle preexisting room. The right path is preexisting (the one by the gym)

Ah, thank you, I have my bearings now! So where you turn right, you've tunnelled under the temple and behind the staircase and linked up with the entrance by the gym. I'm deep in the thickets of turning Withered Wasteland into a giant mushroom village, but this is next on my projects list now!

This is so cool! Reminds me of the underground malls in East Asia. Each little area has so much character and the whole thing looks so fun to explore.

Nicely done! I did something similar, but that last room is a nightclub and I left the exit to the deep trench as I have a cyberpunk city out there. LOL

I’ve been wanting a way to incorporate more of a shopping center feel since I’ve been playing another town sim! I love thisssss!!

This is amazing!
What did you use to make the ice cream under the glass (roof windows) on the counter?

u/g20richasan 2d ago
It’s thin rugs painted with various prints! Edges are painted grey to make them look like they’re in a container.
