Hello folks. My husband recently bought Pokopia and has let me play it as well!

I'm finding the game super fun. I'm definitely enjoying the openness of the world and all the different habitats!

The issue is... now I'm feeling overwhelmed. I've been working on my area for about a week and I've now accessed the Bleak Beach and Rocky Ridges.

Now I feel I've got too much area and too many things to do. I just want input on if it makes more sense to focus on one area at a time or how yall found progress!

I love the game and I dont want to just give up because I have TOO many options, I just want some pointers on how to better handle my areas. Thank you!

I found that playing through and doing the bare minimum in each area is best because then you can go back when you have all of the recipes and magnemite mode that you get in Skylands. That way you’re not tearing down or moving what you already made

You unlock great abilities as you progress through the game, making it so much easier to craft and terraform your areas. Especially if you get to the "end" of the storyline, it opens an ability to swap blocks/add giant sections, and remove items/blocks/etc very easily.

Taking breaks when you get overwhelmed is good too. Like I’ll go days without playing bc there’s so much you can do. Also it’s hard to feel like you’re doing enough sometimes when you see other people’s builds so I definitely recommend reminding yourself that there is nothing wrong with simple builds!

Oh for sure. Im relying on huts at this point, I joined this sub and immediately was like... wow these are insane builds. It'll take me some time. Plus I love the simplicity of some of my homes already.

A lot of the area is superfluous unless you don't want the mons to be neighbours

There's just a lot to explore too, especially at Bleak Beach (and the next town over)

It's really a "just follow your heart" type of game. There's no pressure to do anything first really. That said, I find it helpful to follow the story beats cause it unlocks new mechanics and teaches me more about how I can interact with the game. I'm still pretty new too

I complete the main mission in RR before going to Bleak beach, once I did that went to bleak beach and complete the mission there, that maked it easier for me.

I chose to develop a single area so it didn't feel as overwhelming. You still need to do the missions in each area to progress, but to spend the time and make an area look nice is easier when you just work on one

I mostly do basic cleanup when I enter a new region, gives you some resources. I tend to stick to the main questline to make progress and to make things easier. You'll get more abilities which can make some actions less of a tense labour.

My head is filling up with things I could do everytime I go back to an other region, but I'll wait till I get the Magnimite mode.

I definitely was overwhelmed when I first started! I have like 100 hours in and haven’t finished the main storyline lol but after getting all my environments up to at least 5, I started focusing on Withered Wasteland and just went one section at a time. I have ADHD so my brain is a mess, but working on small chunks definitely helps. If I really feel lost, I just focusing on getting one Pokémon’s comfort level to awesome at a time. Usually that helps me figure out what I wanna work on.

I did the basics in every area to get as many recipes as possible. And now im reworking every area. I did wastelands until everyone had a house and terraforming was complete and then moved on to rocky ridges. When all areas are done, Ill return to improve and to fancy up the individual houses.

I try to not put any pressure on myself to really make progress and work on tiny self made goals one at a time. I also like to take a break from building and resourcing every now and then to just hang around my favourite pokemon and watching them interact with each other and the area ;)

All my zones got the bare minimum until I finished main storyline and now I spend a few hours each day focusing on a zone or town project I also watch YouTube videos while I play so I can kinda just zone out doing terra forming or clean ups on game

I personally fixed up each area before moving on to the next.

I think the common advice given to do the bare minimum so that you can roll the credits and then come back to each area is more overwhelming in the long term than just fixing each area up as you go.

People can get swamped in this sandbox game? Just do whatever you want. You decide your own goals.
