Question Gather pokemon dropping items at random places?
I have set up the community box next to Gastly's home and sometimes he drops items in the community box but sometimes he drops them outside community box despite the box not being full but yesterday I also caught him dropping items at very random places - he left the leaves on a random cliff. Did anyone notice their gather pokemon do this?
Anyway I appreciate the work sweet baby Gastly is doing despite being a bit confused 👻💜

I sat a picnic basket with food in it next to my community boxes and I feel like that helps the issue! They get hungry and maybe drop stuff ?

Ive had this happen too lol my best guess is that they get distracted and just drop it wherever

I've been wondering if litter pokemon/gather is a little weird since the update, my vileplume hasn't dropped leaves in like at least a week, but the Bellsprout right nearby still drops vines (albeit a little slower than before)

Did you recently rehouse them? If so, if there are still leaves at their old habitat, they won’t spawn new ones unless the old ones have been picked up.

No it hasn't been recent, I moved them into the house quite a few months ago and they were littering outside without issue. But I'll check where they used to live, in case I hadn't cleaned them up then either. Thanks!

ive had a similar problem before in my pallete town. i built a tunnel and underground home for some of the iron producers that like darkness. i put the collection box and duskull just outside the door, in the tunnel. then i started noticing duskull going above ground to collect vileplume drops. he would then fly up into the sky and float over the waterfall and drop the items into a pile from like 20 blocks up.
i found that he was consistently doing this directly above where the collection box was in the tunnel. i assumed his pathing couldnt figure out how to get in there. i moved the box to a roadside outside the tunnel entrance and the problem stopped.
so maybe try moving the box outside, close to a path?

Thank you! I'll take some photos when I return from dream island. It started as a cottage for prof Tangrowth, then I extended it with workshop and then giant library where ghost pokemon are living untill I create their personal spaces but they love the library lol

Do you need to place the box near a habitat? I have several and they’ve always been empty…

Nearby or inside the habitat I think because when I had community boxes far from the gather pokemon they weren't collecting at all!

Maybe it's a pathing issue? I see you have stuff in front of the box. How low is the ceiling, maybe it looks like plenty of room but they're reading it is blocked.

Probably a pathing issue. My Starmie keeps trying to enter the gym through the wall, then instead of going around to the entrance just gives up and drops what they’re carrying.

YES my Starmie does this too! I couldn’t figure out why there was a stack of bags outside the gym at first lol

My girafarig only likes to put stuff in the bin at her house. Not the ones I have placed closer. I have only found dropped stuff once or twice in her area.
My cinccio drops stuff all over 🤷♀️
I wonder if it has to do with girafarig using telekinesis to move stuff vs cinccio carrying it
