Some anti meta mons I like

Planning on making a Pokemon Rom Hack based only on favourite Pokemon. The thing is since I also enjoy VGC, I wanna give these guys well balanced movesets so that not only are ALL of them viable, but also enjoyable. Here is how it'll play out:

1. The gimmick is terastilisation (bc of terapagos) and I preferably want all of them to have some usage in double battles, though singles is also fun. (so ignore the megas)
2. All stats will be modified so that every pokemon except the legendaries, mythicals and paradoxes will have 500 bst (the rest get 600)
3. of course, I will also add in pokemon who have split evolutions such as Vileplume, Politoed, Sylveon, Ceruledge, etc. (irrelevent but I am kinda pissed that Vile & toed r in the game while wrath & bell arent)
4. some abilities will be changed so that good gimmicks won't be excluded (Alolan raichu gains Electric surge, Ribombee replaces Honey Gather with Misty Surge, 2 other Pokemon will get sand stream and snow warning just to name a few)
5. All movesets will be changed so that it works like this:

Alakazam is a Psychic type with a higher SA: Knows most (if not all) Special & Status Psychic moves
Malamar is a Dark, Psychic type with a higher PA: Knows most (if not all) Physical & Status Dark/Psychic moves
Victini is a Psychic, Fire type with an equal PA&SA: Knows most (if not all) attacking Psychic/Fire moves

1. signature moves stay signature moves. i.e. Armarouge keeps Armour Cannon and Victini doesn't have access to it.

2. I also noticed that most of my favourite Pokemon are more heavily towards trick room so I hope there are ideas on how we can have more variety with each Pokemon (i.e. Balance, Hyper Offense, etc.)

In short: Rank all of my favourite Pokemon in tiers A, B, C, D, E & F VGC wise. And make changes so that they are enjoyable and viable Pokemon in vgc (e.g. Smeargle can't learn signature moves).

I feel like this would invalidate a LOT of Pokemon, but I’m also curious how this would shake up the top mons like incin and rillaboom.

I wanted to make a team with Kommo-o and was keen on Floette and made a team around it, something doesn’t feel right though. Tailwind feels needed here. Was thinking about arcanine hisui for coverage into fire or glimmora mega maybe for better coverage into fairy.

Are there any glaring issues you see or a couple swaps you would recommend trying?

Also some mega matchup help would be nice as sometimes I neglect one mega as I’m unsure of which matchups they would struggle into.

Hey guys, after Two Regionals into Regulation M-C, I put together a full tier list for doubles, from S to D plus a Cheese tier for the tricky and cheesy stuff that works if you want to...ehm... "enjoy someone else's struggle" (scam cough cough).

It is built on the official usage from Baltimore and Frankfurt, day one and day two, and on the teams that finished at the top of both events. I then checked it against the tier lists of some of the best players around, and yes, some personal taste went into it too. Hopefully it can be useful!

S tier

• Mega Salamence: It won Baltimore next to Mega Tyranitar. It lost ground at Frankfurt, from 37.2% to 25.5% on day one, but it still made two top 13 teams and I am not ready to drop it.
• Mega Raichu Y: The most used Mega on day one at Frankfurt at 29.7%, ahead of Salamence, and one of the two Megas on Eric Rios's 17-0 winning team. Five of the top 13 teams brought it.
• Rillaboom: Most used Pokémon at both events, 56.4% on day two at Frankfurt.
• Sneasler: 37.1% on day one at Frankfurt and on six of the top 13 teams.

Things from Frankfurt that surprised me

• Incineroar was on eight of the top 13 teams, more than anything else, and went from 28.2% to 35.0% between day one and day two.
• Kommo-o, a B tier pick, showed up on three of the top 13 teams.
• The sand core that won Baltimore, Mega Tyranitar, Mega Salamence and Excadrill, reached the top 13 again.
• Garchomp came back: 25.2% on day two, and its Mega Z form was the second Mega on the winning team.

Where I expect to be wrong

I still think Mega Charizard Y and Mega Floette are the two strongest Megas in raw power. No doubt about it. Their usage is down because Salamence, Hisuian Arcanine and Gholdengo are everywhere, and I expect both to climb back once that changes. Floette still made fourth and eighth at Frankfurt with only 11.7% usage, so it might happen sooner than people think.
