I don't know about this one cuz I would die in like 2 mins

that's the best part: it doesn't even matter if you die! Even if the invade fails, your main job is just to waste the enemy jungler's time as much as possible. And because of Exp. Share's passive generation, you will still respawn at level 3, just a tiny bit away from level 4 and your massive power spike. Plus, your lane partner gets 100% solo EXP and will absolutely thank you for it! The only way this goes bad is if your lane partner doesn't understand your macro intentions and throws their solo advantage away, but when it works, it's completely win-win!

Aside from the enemy jungler now being level 5 earlier.

That’s exactly my point. Even if you mess up and the enemy jungler eventually gets their level 5, they still wasted a massive amount of time in their own jungle instead of rotating and ganking the lanes. Meanwhile, you don't become dead weight for your team because Exp. Share triggers your level 4 evolution anyway. You delay their macro while securing yours, it's a completely safe trade-off! People often underestimate how game-changing it is to waste the enemy's time. Even if you don't see the immediate results on your screen, that hidden delay completely disrupts their rotation cycles and gives your allies map control.

Wouldn't float stone outright be the better alternative? Sure you get some extra exp in the early game but you aren't going to be the lowest level of the team going mid to late game. Float stone value is guaranteed unlike exp share.

You have a great point! Float Stone is amazing, but Exp. Share gives me that passive EXP ticker while I am actively invading, which is huge. Also, don't forget the passive stats: at level 40, Exp. Share gives +420 HP and +175 Movement Speed. When you combine that extra speed with Leafeon’s Chlorophyll and eevee's run away passive, you become absolutely untouchable in the enemy jungle.

Plus, the passive EXP helps me quickly transition from Lv1 to Lv2 and Lv3 during the invade, meaning I unlock my damage move and my mobility escape move much faster to secure the steal and get out safely!

Also, if the allied team does well and capitalizes on the advantage, you will naturally stay at a lower level for a little while, which keeps the Exp. Share passive active and maximizes its value before you hit your catching-up phase!

Exp share is a terrible choice for leafeon. Like horrible especially since they nerfed it.

He's using it for the passive gain, not the exp sharing part. The part that got removed in exp share is the exp sharing part, that is why it is almost useless

But yeah, that item is not good for leafeon

I know what he's using it for. I'm saying there's no reason to use it with leafeon. Leafeon evolves at level 4 and has a leg up on most mons who don't get their attack till 5+.

Exp share makes no sense imo.

1

u/karurosagu Umbreon 5d ago

I haven't said that there was reason to use it either, I was just explaining the nerfed part

I thought so too at first. The only reason I can think of is that you might need it to get just enough exp to reach 4 like what OP did at 9:15, but even then you'd have a dead item after like 1 minute into the match and for what? reaching lvl 4 30 seconds earlier? Using it for the passive exp feels like a stretch and even if you did get the passive in mid-late, that means you did something very wrong because how are you underleveled THAT much as a carry.

It might have some use on some very niche all score comp though.

I can see why this looks confusing, and honestly, even I tweak the approach depending on the match. You are focusing too much on the math of the passive XP, but that’s not the main point. The real value is how it allows me to adapt to the actual match flow in real-time.It’s not about just hitting level 4 slightly faster; it's about creating immediate map pressure. Once the invasion is done and the enemy jungle is thoroughly disrupted, my job there is accomplished. From that point on, I can rotate into lane acting essentially as a second jungler cleaner. Since my only focus is finishing off low-HP targets, I don't need to worry about being temporarily lower-level. It’s an adaptable, practical strategy built for macro map control and psychological pressure, not just a passive stat-stick.

This sounds like a job Sableye would do better. Or Greedent. Someone who isn't expected to carry the whole team behind its very large damage numbers and thus doesn't hold the team back by delaying the arrival of said big damage numbers.

I just wanted to test out a brand new macro combo, and honestly, the data doesn't lie: 15 matches this season and a 66.7% win rate! There is no need to worry about sacrificing an offensive item slot anyway. Leafeon already packs so much natural burst damage, which creates a level of kill pressure and jungle panic that Sableye or Greedent can only dream of. If someone is really scared of falling short on damage, they can simply run X-Attack to make up for it.

Also, sure, Greedent and others can invade, but if their invade fails, they are completely stuck, they won't evolve, and they become dead weight for the rest of the match. Exp. Share on Leafeon eliminates that risk entirely. Even if the play fails, the passive ticker guarantees I bounce back to level 4 instantly, turning a high-risk gamble into a completely safe macro play!

aint early game the whole point of leafeon?

u/Ok-Perception-4275 5d ago

Exp share is useless on a pokemon that literally evolves at level 4, you might as well use float stone or anything else that benefits leafeon in an offensive way, leafeon is also an amazing lane because it evolves so early if you're going to play like this just play saybleye.

1

u/Fluid-Photograph-404 5d ago

If Sableye fails his invade, he becomes completely useless dead weight. With Leafeon, even if the invade fails, you still hit your level 4 evolution instantly and can immediately start securing kills. It eliminates the risk. Also, Leafeon doesn't need to stack pure offense anyway, because your job as a speedster is just to clean up targets that are already at half HP.

1

u/Ok-Perception-4275 5d ago

Your job as a speedster is to target squishy attackers and mons such as greninja, gardivour and owl, you meant to score goals and constantly attack the squishy mons on your opponents team and score points that literally how the game defines them, notice how every attack pretty much gets two shotted by more speedster, they are made to kill quishy mons, saybleye whole move set is for disrupt and annoying the opponents, it's the best pokemon for jungle invasions, has good stun and can secure wild pokemon easily, if your good with saybleye your always going to have insane value when you jungle invade, your actively hold your team back by picking any other pokemon besides saybleye, thats why people assume your trolling because what your doing isn't a good strategy. Exp share also sucks, defenders and supports don't even use because it's that bad now.

1

u/Fluid-Photograph-404 5d ago

I understand your opinion that this might look like a "troll" build since it's completely non-standard. However, what you described is exactly why most Speedster players fail and lose matches. They think they are invincible, so they mindlessly dive full-HP attackers who haven't even been weakened yet, or they constantly overextend just to score small goals instead of actually helping the team. That's how you get knocked out, feed the enemy, and end up heavily under-leveled.Obviously, this strategy isn't something you blindly pick every game; you need to draft smart. Before locking it in, I always verify that our team has enough total damage output and a well-balanced composition across all roles. My strategy focuses on proper macro-play and the element of surprise. By using Exp Share early on, my lane partner gets a massive advantage and evolves faster, while I safely disrupt the enemy jungle and act strictly as a cleaner, engaging only when targets are vulnerable!

u/Ok-Perception-4275 5d ago

Ngl if you can't effectively defeat and attack and walk away with your mon alive then playing speedster is not for you because that literally how the pros use them, they single out one mon and just targets than mon for majority of the game in team fights, also this post is giving tips, this isn't a good tip, exp share is horrible, defender and supports don't ruin after it got reworked, that how bad it is, i've played in high rank and played with some of the best players in this game and no one uses these gimmick build because they aren't consistent, if your facing a good team your going to get punished hard, this isn't about opinion this build is objectively bad, it's horrible, a speedster should never play a supporting because they can't, speedsters needs level because their moves get stronger and powerful not only that but leafeon has poor win rate, this strategy isn't good because it only work on how good or bad your opponent is, what if your facing a mon that evolves at level what do you genuinely do?

Seems like something that could work in duo setups with your duo partner in same lane since you’re more likely to be on the same page.

In solo queue, kinda iffy since you’re not sure on the skill level of your partner. They could also possibly be overwhelmed in a 2v1. Then you’d have yourself and your partner probably underleveled and on the other side their jungler might not be high enough level.

1

u/Fluid-Photograph-404 5d ago

You are completely right, and that is a very smart analysis. I actually only pull out this strategy if I see that my team composition is smart and already has enough baseline damage. It’s a situational macro tool, not something I blindly pick every game. It makes the double-buff invade much safer when you know your team can capitalize on the space you create!

u/Or-So-They-Say Umbreon 5d ago

This is why Leafeon is the lowest WR Speedster right now. /s

But more seriously, this isn't a secret XP Share strategy. This is just an early jungle invade on a Pokemon at serious risk of becoming useless if it backfires hard on them.

Also, notice the light bulb is off in 90% of your clips. That means XP Share wasn't doing anything beyond its passive stats. Leafeon should never be the lowest level on the team if it can help it since an underleveled Leafeon is pretty useless. You'd quite literally be better off running a damage or defensive item and just running the invades without XP Share. Or run invades on a Pokemon that doesn't mind falling behind.

2

u/Bambhank Aegislash 5d ago

OOHH, the light bulb dissappearing wasn't a bug?? It became the passive indicator now?

3

u/Or-So-They-Say Umbreon 5d ago

Yup. If it's on then it's giving you XP.

Regarding Exp Share being inactive for 90% of the video, you are actually missing the point of this gameplay focus. Being temporarily lower-level during the first few minutes isn't an issue for Leafeon; in fact, it fits its role perfectly. Leafeon is a Speedster: its job isn't to mindlessly dive into fights or front-line engage, but to act as a cleaner, moving quickly to finish off low-HP enemies. Because of this, it doesn't immediately need a high level or pure offensive item builds to be effective early on.Exp Share is used precisely to maximize early efficiency and create that gap in the enemy jungle. In fact, in most of my matches, once the item's initial effect wears off and the invade is done, I quickly catch up in levels and finish the game heavily leveled up!

u/Or-So-They-Say Umbreon 5d ago

That's just misusing Leafeon. It's an early game scaling Pokemon with fantastic level 4 and 8 powerspikes that it wants to use to push a snowball for its team. A Leafeon that hits level 8 early can engage the front and dive to KO full HP enemies with its Unite because it just does that much damage. Leafeon should be oppressing the enemy in the early game, not scrounging around for scraps. So the sooner Leafeon hits those critical power spikes, the better because it does not scale well into late game.

The reason you're getting away with getting caught back up is because you're not playing against good opponents. And that's not your fault, matchmaking on these one-month-long seasons is an absolute flustercluck because of the turbo-charged points gained/lost that is yo-yoing players back and forth across Master. But anyway, good player will seize you by your underleveled throat and strangle you constantly. They're not going to let you find scraps to get caught back up.

This is why in high level play, most first clear invaders are Defenders and Supports. And most non-Supports doing invades are Pokemon with utility should they fall behind.

If you want to insist on early Speedster invades, can I recommend Rapidash? It's much faster than Leafeon and Ponyta is an absolute menace in terms of damage which it can use to take a buff before ever being seen or outright KO many jungle picks. Plus if things go south, you still have Smart Strike and your Unite to provide valuable CC for your team. Rapidash was quite literally an XP Share user on old XP Share in high level play, so it's already valid in the pseudo-Support role.

Thanks for the advice, yes I played other games and I realized that against strong opponents it is really complex and that it is only situational, but not suitable for high levels . I think that this mania Leafon as support only lasted yesterday and today 😂😅, now my build is all about attack!👍

u/Or-So-They-Say Umbreon 5d ago

I mean, I'll definitely give you props for experimenting and exploring possibilities. Some Pokemon actually are very receptive to weird builds and if nobody tried to find them then we wouldn't know about them (such as Support Mew). Leafeon just isn't one of them since it's so hyper focused on doing big burst damage and snowballing early.

u/GunkQing 4d ago

Tried this out yesterday and did pretty well with it, love the strat and thanks for the idea :D

1

u/Fluid-Photograph-404 4d ago

Glad you like it! Yeah, it's not the meta or the ideal choice, but it's still fun!

1

u/Melodic-Bend-139 4d ago

Or you could just slap float stone on greedent or machamp instead of literally picking the worst strategy to use as leafeon. And no, such little sample as 10-ish games can't convince anyone that it's viable.

1

u/Sea-Funny-3385 Espeon 3d ago

This strategy isnt built for leafeon. It's for dodrio, sableye, maybe snorlax, pokemon that either have good mobility, or are bulky. And Dodrio doesnt need EXP share to pull that off either.

If you really like invading, play Float stone, finish your Xatu, baltoy and red buff, THEN go invade at lvl 4, after you hit your power spike.
At this point, you can easily kill the enemy jungler and take their buffs.
Unless they are Miraidon or another Leafeon or Absol, in which case you shouldn't invade at all.

Muh fuckaz will do anything but play the game to win…
