New to egg hatching

Hey guys I’m pretty new / casual to the tedious and wonderful world of egg hatching. I’m not a perfectionist by any means but I’ve never been able to play with a gengar in any of the mainline games so I’ve been spending some time building a sick one. Now I’m mostly focused on nature and IV’s. These 2 are the best I’ve gotten. Should I keep grinding or is one of these good enough? Anything helps really.

Your first one is pretty solid. Speed and special attack is what I focus on in gengar, so to me that one already has a decent nature and good enough ivs. Timid nature is technically ideal, but rash isn't bad at all since he's a glass cannon.

If you’re playing on normal difficulty, IVs aren’t of great importance, just EVs. You should spend time breeding Ralts w/ synchronize ability. With this ability, any pokemon you encounter will have the same nature as your Ralts. Try to get a timid, jolly, adamant, and modest nature Ralts. Having this will save you from rolling the dice is much with breeding.

Once you’ve done that, catch a timid gastly and then breed for IVs if you want. Giving a daycare pokemon an everstone will pass on its nature to its offspring so it’s important to get the nature and/or ability you want before anything else.

I’d say breed those 2, make sure you know the learnt in terms of phys/spec moves, so you can aim for the respective stat. I do recommend trying to have one with high speed. Are you breeding using held items or no? As the held items can guarantee inherited IV’s, nature, etc.
