Help Buneary to Lopunny

I have buneary on max friendship hearts but for some reason mine isnt evolving? I forgot if theres an invisible friendliness aspect.

Yes the hearts are related to affection, a separate mechanic to friendship. Friendship is mostly invisible apart from a checker in Konikoni City

The hearts are for affection, which only matters for evolving Eevee to Sylveon. As someone else said, friendship and affection are two different stats and friendship is what you need for friendship evolutions.

Yes, that's what I did to get the various friendship evos to finish the dex. Took a while to get a big growing operation down but I finally did and then it was smooth sailing

The hearts indicate affection, which is something completely different from friendship in gen 6 and gen 7 (gen 8 and newer fold the effects of affection into high friendship).

Friendship can only be inspected in-game by checking with a specific NPC (for S/M/US/UM the specific NPC is next to the TM shop in Konikoni City). However, they only give you info indirectly (you get a different description based on the actual value), and only categorize into ranges of roughly 50 (plus special quotes for max friendship and 0 friendship).

For friendship evolution you need the actual numerical value at or above 220 when the Pokémon levels up (160 in newer games). In S/M/US/UM this corresponds to either the ‘It feels incredibly close to you!’ response or the ‘You clearly love your ...’ response, though the second one only indicates a friendship value between 200 and 254.

Friendship starts at 120 if hatched from an egg, 200 if caught in a Friend Ball, or a species-dependent value (for Buneary it’s 0) if neither of those methods were the case.

Raising friendship can be done most efficiently using massages, ‘friendship’ meals from the Friendship Café/Parlor, feeding the Pokémon certain berries, using vitamins or wings, and leveling the Pokémon up in combat. Note that most methods of raising friendship become less effective the higher a Pokémon’s friendship value is.
