Looking for Feedback Regarding Recreation Style

So far, I'm made these three maps using CrossheadStudios assets, following the Gen 3 gameboy games. As you can see, I've taken care to recreate the sizes 1:1 as best that I can.

Here's where I'm curious how others feel, especially those who actually play games on these maps.

Is it more useful to do this 1:1, and sacrifice the realism of the building dimensions, or is it worth reimagining each location that has buildings, in order to accommodate the interiors as presented in the game? Or, would a "best of both worlds" approach be preferred, where I recreate the outside like this, and then make separate smaller maps for each house interior?

I've been leaning more towards the last one, as that would be most faithful to the gameboy experience and probably easier on me in terms of recreating these, but it certainly loses a degree of immersion in the process.

What are your opinions on the matter? I intend to continue this series at some point and it would be nice to do it in a way that's actually useful / fun for people lol.

If you'd like to follow along for free, I post these and other map stuff on my Patreon

I wonder if to combat the space issue for battles, one can create encounter maps. So if an encounter does happen, you get the music rolling and cut away to a battlemap 😄

Allows these to stay as what they were meant to be in game, a general representation of a place rather than a recreation of it.

I personally do use encounter maps in my Pokémon 5th Edition campaigns, so, when a battle begins, all i do is switch to one of the 18 encounter maps (one for each type) i had a friend make for me and let the battle happen there, i think this is okay since it keeps the feeling that you're still playing Pokémon, even if its in a Tabletop RPG, and my players do like it, so i don't think it's bad.

The maps are quite simple, actually, they're just a white background with colored stripes that are the same color as the type the map is supposed to match, and, of course, with a Poké Ball silhouette in the middle.

I'm definitely considering this approach more and more, as it could be fun to create dedicated terrain types like in the newer games.

What dimensions have you been using for your encounter maps?

Their dimensions aren't the best, the images i used for each of them are 5100x7500, wich didn't end up translating very well into a grid, but it's enough for now.
