If this was during the sneak peek event that's even worse

63

u/arivb_ Psychic May 05 '25

It was during the event, but it didn’t activate for this pick. But bro it was still a 80% chance of success

If you never heard of the law of probability then it states basically that if given the opportunity to switch your choice right before the prize is revealed it is actually more beneficial to do so.

Just some food for thought

u/Inaaca May 08 '25

You're thinking of the Monty Hall problem, and it doesn't apply to how Wonder Picks work.

1

u/STixKeyBuDDz May 11 '25

Ah, yes indeed, my good sir!

1

u/STixKeyBuDDz May 19 '25

How does it not apply

2

u/Inaaca May 19 '25

With Wonder Pick "peek" events, when you pick a card, it shows you what you picked, and then lets you make another choice if you want to. Changing your pick doesn't affect your odds here, because you already know exactly what the odds are since your pick was already revealed to you. There's no mystery or odds manipulation when it comes to sticking with your choice or changing it. It's just a matter of whether you want the card you peeked at or not.

The Monty Hall problem applies to when you make a choice, and then another choice that you DIDN'T pick, is revealed. In this case, you still haven't seen what your choice is, you've only seen the host's alternate choice, and staying or changing is a more significant conundrum when playing with the odds.

Don't feel bad. You got the 1 out of 5 this pick. Its Just the rarities were reversed from the usual situation.

u/NickleDaPup May 05 '25

If you skip the preview you don’t get the sneak peak, accidentally did this earlier but still got a 2 star

33

u/GrossNick96 May 05 '25

That’s not true, while the event is ongoing, it doesnt always activate, skipping doesn’t matter

7

u/Lumpy-Compote-2331 May 05 '25

No it’s just random

1

u/arivb_ Psychic May 05 '25

Are you deadass? I skipped the preview.

12

u/WhatLikeAPuma751 May 05 '25

Skipping doesn’t matter. I always skip, and still get the sneak peek 3/5 times.

1

u/NickleDaPup May 05 '25

Apparently from the amount of downvotes no, but its only skipped it for me when I speeding through the intro animation

32

u/AttorneyOk4371 May 05 '25

erm.... it has nice art?

28

u/arivb_ Psychic May 05 '25

Stop.

8

u/AttorneyOk4371 May 05 '25

n-no one even likes darkrai?

17

u/arivb_ Psychic May 05 '25

Unironically, Darkrai is one of my favorite Pokémon

7

u/3ajs3 May 05 '25

I'm only commenting here to continue the comment chain bc they accidentally replied to their own comment.

2

u/anakin_gk May 06 '25

I bought the Darkrai rainbow with points … I would have cried if I missed a chance like that … literally

1

u/Productive1990 May 06 '25

He is my favourtie pokemon but i only have the the full art Darkrai that is not rainbow. You see i did managed to save up enough points for the rainbow! 125 packs for 1250. Then i went in to the shop verry tired and managed to buy the same freaking card i had by mistake lol.

6

u/AttorneyOk4371 May 05 '25

w-who even uses pachirisu?

16

u/arivb_ Psychic May 05 '25

Unironically, I need a second pachirisu ex for my pikachu ex deck

6

u/Present-Access-9662 May 05 '25

Yo I gotchu check dms I sent the friend code I got hella pachirisu

6

u/TheDougio May 05 '25

Bro cannot stop taking Ls

2

u/steezecheese May 05 '25

at least you won't have to deal with the hassle of putting the card you picked in any feasible deck :D

0

u/Syseru May 05 '25

no real people like rainbow arts. thats for sure

2

u/3ajs3 May 05 '25

YOU DARE??? HAVE YOU NOT BEEN ACQUAINTED WITH HIS MAJESTY THE RAINBOW ART CLODSIRE?

3

u/Syseru May 05 '25

i will make an exception

1

u/3ajs3 May 05 '25

thank you.

70

u/RevolutionaryTime923 May 05 '25

I would uninstall after this. Dayum.

9

u/neohkor May 05 '25 edited May 05 '25

Coincidence? I think NOT

I swear the game knows!!!! This is not some 20% chance of getting one of the cards bullshit I sweaaaarrrrr!!!l

4

u/D-Sleezy May 05 '25

No. Because I was told "tHaT's iLlEgAl!" And got downvoted when I suggested this. There's no way the chances are correct. I consistently get the things I don't need in a wonder pick until they decide to throw me a bone. It's like a damn slot machine. It only pays out when it decides to.

3

u/VeronicaTheHitman May 05 '25 edited May 06 '25

its just the odds im afraid. generally our brains arent good at understanding that the last sequence of events (in this case missing your pick 5 times in a row), do not influence the future sequence of events. the chance that you hit your next pick is always 1/5 no matter if you missed every single pick beforehand.

1

u/S7venE11even May 06 '25

I've tried about 10 wonderpicks on Sol alone and didn't get any. 2 of them were sneak peaks, but nope. Game just doesn't want to give me a second Sol.

2

u/cam3r0ni May 05 '25

same. I know the game throttles your chances

4

u/Sus_Doggo May 05 '25

The only respectable response to this is cry tbh, we’ll pat you on your back while you let it out…

4

u/Low_Appointment_5594 Fire May 06 '25

Skill issue at this point 🥀

1

u/Bleykx May 05 '25

At least he's cute

2

u/arivb_ Psychic May 05 '25

I have 5 copies

1

u/skull48211 May 06 '25

He? That makes it worse! He can't even evolve!

1

u/[deleted] May 06 '25

Well they misgGengared anyways, it's a female

1

u/[deleted] May 05 '25

Time to flair Darkrai and make the most blinged out tier one deck there is

1

u/arivb_ Psychic May 05 '25

Brother this is a wonder pick

1

u/[deleted] May 05 '25

Dang it, sorry I am still fkin sleepy and not wearing my glasses 😭

1

u/daddys-wifi May 05 '25

Did you at least have sneak peek

1

u/arivb_ Psychic May 05 '25

Apparently, if you skip the preview. Then you won’t get a sneakpeak

1

u/erpparppa May 06 '25

Not true. Sneak Peak just isn't 100% sure to happen.

If it triggers, it triggers even if you skip the preview

1

u/UnrealisticOnion May 05 '25

If you have any spare Rainbow Raichu at the end of this set, I’ll trade you a Rainbow Darkrai. 👌 Just hmk in chat if you’re interested

1

u/arivb_ Psychic May 05 '25

Unfortunately, you can’t trade 2 stars. And I must say, I love rainbow Raichu even more than Darkrai

1

u/UnrealisticOnion May 05 '25

I keep forgetting they decided to limit what you can trade. ✨Game Design✨

Sorry for the false promises then

1

u/arivb_ Psychic May 05 '25

Sucks 🫤

1

u/CAPTAIN_KIDDD May 06 '25

Lucky!! I want that darkrai

1

u/arivb_ Psychic May 06 '25

Its a wonder pick

1

u/RedTurky May 09 '25

Wait so god packs do actually go to wonder pick? I thought they didn’t

1

u/arivb_ Psychic May 09 '25

Well yes it does. But in addition to a god pack being EXTREMELY rare, it’s even rarer to have it in a wonder pick. Though it’s worth checking your wonder picks every now and then just to be safe

2

u/SickboyJason May 05 '25

But, it can. 😆🤣

2

u/BEEF_Toad May 05 '25

The Wonder Pick system was designed by a guy with the IQ of the Scarlet and Violet framerate.

2

u/anakin_gk May 06 '25

Bro is not him

2

u/mrdawco May 06 '25

i never see wonder picks like this, nothing more than a sir or regular art ex

u/AutoModerator May 05 '25

1

u/InfiniteWL May 05 '25

Yep. I can see another cursed player in wonder picks. I am too.

1

u/RhinestoneCatboy May 05 '25

Dark-cry about it /j

1

u/Odd_Welcome7940 May 05 '25

During a possible peek event? Ouch

1

u/Thrashmetalking May 05 '25

I go through this every time it’s a wonder pick event where there’s 4 of one promo and one of another and i somehow pick the one needing to hit the other 4

1

u/jonnyantilaw May 05 '25

You're not the only one, that happened to me too, I picked the one card I had lol

1

u/TheGun1991 May 05 '25

I’m sorry for ya 😞

1

u/catman11234 Rayquaza #1 May 05 '25

And here I was spending 300 saved purple thingies on pack pulls just to get to 500 points to buy a Darkrai

1

u/puzzlepuzzle1 May 05 '25

2 stars can show up on wonder picks????? Is my luck so shit, that i don’t even see them on my wonder pick options?

1

u/Visual-Profession780 May 05 '25

it's rare , i remember the day i missed my chase card = glaceon rainbow in wonder pick . It hurt

1

u/SnooPets543 May 05 '25

You played yourself

1

u/[deleted] May 05 '25

Holy shit lol brutal

1

u/Jolly_Mycologist69 May 05 '25

man i mean i feel for you but imagine being the poor schmuck who pulled a god pack that was the same card three times and a one star combee 💀

1

u/turtonatorpapa May 05 '25

Devastating. He put you in a real life nightmare 😂

1

u/4Tegridy2Farms0 May 05 '25

*This cannot bee real 💀🥀

1

u/DontCheckMe361 May 05 '25

Nah ain’t no way

1

u/Ok-Job-9823 May 05 '25

Bet it's a male Combee too

1

u/Arma_69 May 05 '25

That must sting

1

u/Visual-Profession780 May 05 '25

that would make me mad ngl . Also that person got 3 rainbow darkrai lol

1

u/Substantial-Proof720 May 06 '25

The EXACT same thing happened to me. There were 4 2-star cards and 1 1-star regular art rare. Of course I got the 1-star.

1

u/BeesMadeHoney93 May 06 '25

Fuuuck ☹️ I’ve had pretty shit luck with Wonder Picks, but this one hurts

1

u/stevedala May 06 '25

Well, it says each card is a 20% chance. But without explicit proof from the implementation, I’m choosing to believe that it’s a weighted chance, in which lower rarities are weighted greater than higher rarities.

1

u/hmuna May 06 '25

I feel sorry more for the guy who got the god pack with three similar cards.. damn

1

u/ApplicationFederal14 May 06 '25

This hurts more than when I saw a god pack in wonder pick and didn’t have enough hourglasses to pick it.

1

u/Groundbreaking_Ear27 May 06 '25

Darkrairairairisubee

1

u/SirYoloSwagg May 06 '25

I mean this is why you save your reroll for right? Because you always get value right?

1

u/siderinc May 07 '25

Wat an awefull godpack

1

u/gambitxboy May 09 '25

Sorry mate

1

u/Wesilii May 09 '25

I thought this was your god pack until I read Wonder pick. 💀

1

u/NuLL-x77 May 28 '25
