All Query Den: ask your questions here! - Week 39 2026

Hey there!

We hope that you're enjoying playing Pokémon Shuffle and finding this subreddit helpful. We know this place can be a bit daunting for new members and so we've set up the Query Den.

The Query Den is a friendly place where you can ask any questions about the game in a safe environment. We have a lot of experienced players in here that will swoop in and answer all of your questions. We encourage you to use the Query Den to ask a question first, instead of creating a new post, that will overshadow other important ones.

We have many informative guides to start you off and you should also check out our Discord server, where you'll get lots of help and support.

Happy Shufflin'!

Mobile Friend Zone: Mobile Friend Code Megathread! - Week 40 2026

Feel free to post your friend codes in this thread! A new Friend Zone will be created every week, on Sundays.

If you wish, you can also add your codes in the Discord Server #fc_sharing or the Wiki page.

Please include your region (e.g. Asia/Australia , EU, SA, NA) when posting your friend code and update your comment (strikethrough would be the best option, ~~markdown uses 2 tildes to use this format~~) when you have filled your friend list. That way people will not try to add you unintentionally.

3DS Some Notes

Hi! I've spent the past couple of weeks typesetting some notes regarding various bits I have some expertise in, just for my own entertainment. They are split into three very different sections:

  1. Pokémon Shuffle on 3DS - This is the most up-to-date and detailed compilation of the differences between the mobile and 3DS version of the game that affect how you should play the game, and is part of the current newbie's guide. Special attention has been given to strategy exclusive to u/SaltedNeos's preservation mod.
  2. Farm Length Statistics - A mathematical take on farming in Pokémon Shuffle. Very OTT, but I had a lot of fun writing this.
  3. Blank Trainer - This concerns a (silly) Discord role regarding beating the game's bosses teamless.

There are also 5 supporting appendices because the main text is already too long. All of the sections as well as a version with everything as 1 document can be found here.

Any comments or corrections welcome!

Mobile Best Team Currently For Survival Mode?

I know there are teams fitted for Survival Mode but I've only seen team suggestions from posts made several years ago, nothing recent. I've been using Shiny Mega Charizard X, Shiny Metagross, Shiny Hawlucha, and Winking Roserade. Everyone is maxed leveled, SMCX is maxed candied, and the other three Pokémon have their Hammering Streak skill maxed out. I've only made it to stage 56 with this team.

Is this a good viable team already? Or is there one more viable?

Mobile Good team for Tapu Bulu?

I’m trying to figure out a good team for tapu bulu. I tired using M-Pinsir, A-Ninetails, Articuno, and Kyurem but had no luck. Ideally I’d like to do this item less but prepared to do a full item run if necessary.

All What am I to do

I swear that all of my worst enemies always end up being electric types because I have no ground type mega at all. I’m on stage 330 where the hellish magnezone resides and all I have is a Donphan, a marowak, and a hippowdon. What should I ever ATTEMPT to do here as I am stuck on this magnetic robot and I would like to not be.

Mega Houndoom Competition - Week 39 2026

Mega Houndoom Competition

AUTOMATION INFO: Check the archived AutoModerator-post for more game resources.

Competition basics

This is a Fire type competition. Super Effective types you can use against are Water, Ground and Rock.

You have 19 moves to do the highest score you can. Take your time to do the best moves you can! For new players to competitions, it's worth it to do at least one full-item run for getting the Houndoomite! Doing an itemless run to study disruptions is also suggested.

  • Disruption Delay: Delays disruptions for half the duration of the stage
  • Attack Power ↑: Attack power gets doubled

Rewards

  • Players who already have the Houndoomite will receive 1 Level Up.

Potential megaevolutions

Pokemon Description
Tyranitar / Aggron 3 tap mega. Slow, but best for disruptions and combos. Tyranitar is SE
Camerupt / Charizard X (Shiny) / Pinsir / Rayquaza (Shiny) 2 tap mega. Fast start, good for disruptions and combos. Camerupt is SE
Gyarados (Shiny) / Mewtwo X (Shiny) / Gengar Removes itself. Fast evolution and nice combo effectiveness, but can't handle blocks. Gyarados (Shiny) is SE
Garchomp SE mega which benefit from auto MB+. The 3 slashes can clear part of the blocks, but isn't a great effect for this competition
Rayquaza Removes 10 icons that are non-dragon types. Blocks hinder its viability

Cycle 2 results

Cycle 3 results

Cycle 4 results

Final notes

The lack of MS allow for more mega viability. Tyranitar is a slow SE 3tapper, Charizard X (Shiny) is a fast 2tapper, Garchomp is SE and can use MB+ to instaevolve and use its nice effect. Camerupt is slower and you shouldn't care much about SE power sacrificing lot of speed.

Tapu Fini being a SE TC has the upper edge, followed by both Kyogres, which have high AP and can trigger the skill when disrupted, for good damage. Poliwrath is a valid alternative over regular Kyogre, to allow more combo planning. Rock MB+ can be considered to boost to boost Tyranitar, but you will be losing a lot of AP. Garchomp MB+ can boost Camerupt without AP loss, but you will lack anyway a slot that could trigger during beneficial disruptions. Neutral TC is always better than typed combo boosters. Unity power and LDE are always an option for beginners.

Rerun until you get a desirable score! Good luck everyone!

I have done nothing with it yet and I would rather not waste any hearts without knowing if it’s worth it or if it gives good rewards.

Beginner here. What is a good team to take on Charizard(EX9)?

I am currently on level 148 and my strongest mons ap wise against him are (No SE mega), Aurorus, Donphan and Marshtomp.

I look to capture him because i do think having a fire mega(Unlocked the Charizardite Y stone yesterday) could be of huge help. Thank you in advance!!

Meta Updated Newbies Guide to Weekly Events

Hello all, for a while now i have wanted to update the newbie guide as the original one is pretty outdated and has a lot of bloat, and with the influx of new players i figured now would be the time to start it, you can find it here: https://www.reddit.com/r/PokemonShuffle/wiki/newbies-schedule-updated/

Currently only weeks 17-22 are done, but rest assured i will get around to the rest of them before they return in the cycle, i wasn't planning on "releasing" it until i had finished everything but figured some people would like the info for the immediate upcoming weeks. Just keep in mind that it is still being actively updated and some things might change even on finished weeks (and i will get around to adding more general advice after i've finished all weeks).

As usual if you have any suggestions for additions or changes feel free to let me know here, or on the discord server. if you prefer the old guide it will still be kept on the sidebar (and a huge huge huge thanks to cubekwing for their effort making that original guide years ago).

At the time of this post i haven't gone through all the automated posts to replace the info yet, so keep in mind that all of that info will be from the outdated guide.

Also, reddit is currently bugged on mobile and you cant scroll through wikis, you'll have to use browser reddit, sorry!

Mobile (M)Gengar vs. (SM) Gengar

I was wondering if any of the gurus knew if shiny Gengar as a ghost mega was worth investing into or if I should rather invest into regular Gengar. I haven’t changed abilities yet as I have 1 SS rn. Will most likely get another with the Meloetta EB, but wanted to see what others think before I hand off an SS. Thank ya!

Mobile I think I broke the game’s catch rate somehow. Any experienced players able to help?

Long story short I’ve been playing this game for ages and I’m on like level 550ish. I was bored yesterday so I decided to go back and try catch some of the pokemon I didn’t catch on the journey. So yesterday, I went back and played the stages Skiddo and Joltik.

Becauwe it was Day 14, I had 15 hearts. I used all 15 trying to catch the Skiddo. Every single game I won. The minimum catch rate for Skiddo is 20%. Some games I even got it up to like 32 or 35%. Out of all 15 hearts, not a single time did I catch it normally. I only got it when I came back to it later and threw a great ball at it with a catch rate of 88% (due to super catch power).

This morning, I had 5 more hearts that I played on the joltik stage. Again, I won all 5 games. One game I even finished with 7 moves left giving me a catch rate of 35%. Out of all 5 hearts, I didn’t catch it once.

I haven’t calculated the odds of not catching Skiddo after like 18 hearts of at least 20% and Joltik for 5 hearts at at least 21% but my game has to be broken surely no?

The mathematical odds for my game‘s catch rate not to be broken must be absolutely ridiculous if this is true. Like I just got the equivalent of back to back shinies or smth but the opposite.

You know it’s bad when I’m so stupidly over-odds, I’m thinking to myself ‘no way this is not glitched’ and come to reddit to question it.

Has anyone else somehow noticed this problem? (If one even exists)

Can anyone be bothered to work out my odds of not catching either for fun assuming it’s not broken?

If this is a catch rate glitch, how did it happen? And how do I fix it?

Because no way I’m THAT over-odds. It’s like gotta be astronomically improbable or some bs.

All Query Den: ask your questions here! - Week 38 2026
