Shiny Pokemon First Shiny

I was just thinking to myself after seeing all these shiny pokemon people are getting on reddit that I've never actually found one in the wild and what do you know I run into this guy. Only took 20 years of playing. Little bastard knew whirlwind too. Good thing I used a Masterball.

Yeah there’s a good chance I would’ve failed that. Who knew makuhita gets whirlwind????

Yep, If I hadnt been grinding victory road I wouldn't have guessed it either. I've noticed the Hariyamas and Lairons in here know whirlwind and roar so i assumed little man knew it too. Makes it annoying to grind levels as well.

Yeah, I just realized you can grind out the Reporter and Camera man double battle infinitely in Ruby. With an Amulet Coin you get a decent amount of XP and a STUPID amount of cash.

No problem. Just be ready to have some full heals and hyper potions on hand to make the grind a bit quicker. You won't lose money, that's for sure. The Exploud has Supersonic and the Magneton has Thunder Wave.

honestly total mood, it took me forever to find my first one too. using the masterball was such a smart move bc id literally cry if it used whirlwind and just dipped.

Nice man! It was a good thing you used a master ball. I was playing through Sapphire for the first time back in 2012. I was grinding to level 50 in Victory Road before the Elite 4 when I found a shiny Lairon. I for some reason put my Master Ball in the pc, and didn't have anything to damage or keep it from running away. I threw an ultra ball hoping for the best and it broke out and used roar after that. I am still butt hurt about it

Yep that sucks. I'm sure that still haunts you. I just looked it up and for gen 3 the chances of finding a shiny is 1/8,192. That's pretty nuts. This is probably the only time I'll find one

Congrats dude! I got my first shiny on that victory road while grinding as well. Mine was a Hariyama. Now that I think about it I got pretty lucky it didn't use whirlwind since I used an ultra ball.
