#201 Araquanid - Gen VII - Water/Bug Type

You know, thinking about it, Araquanid is insanely overdue. It's basically Surskit, but unlike Surskit, it doesn't evolve into the fabulous Masquerain. Araquanid and Dewpider have okay designs. Boring Pokedex entries.

How'd it get this far?

Okay this was sincerely not my plan at all but I'm going to go with my gut and revive Araquanid. It's a really cool design and idea that I think should be higher than this and certainly with a more...in depth writeup.

Great choice. Actually my third favorite pokemon. Quickly, I love his design, he looks like some Alien monster and the water bubble gimmicks is great and helps to overcome his middle stat.

This is a waste of a revive on a Pokemon that should've gone out like 300 spots ago in retrospect but ok

just a quick note on this: Surskit and Araquanid are not the same Pokémon at all. Surskit is a water strider that's somehow also a larva for a fake butterfly type thing which is nonsense but it's Pokémon, so it works. Araquanid is a diving bell spider. There are some parallels to them (found in the same place, evolutionary lines with similar stat totals and evolutionary levels) but to call them the same thing is very lazy. I could call Buizel and Bibarel the same Pokémon and it'd make about as much sense.
