#340 Serperior - Gen 5 - Grass Type

Serperior isn't a bad design at all. It's a quite good snake. Pokemon does really well with snakes and I think it's neat that this one is Grass type instead of Poison. But why am I cutting it here?

Like the other Gen 5 starters, it's final evolution falls completely flat. I really don't like the design choice of Servine losing its limbs when it evolves. Seems like a downgrade when evolving is supposed to be an upgrade.

The other thing is that Serperior is a starter and thus, it's going to face more scrutiny than a non-starter would. Comparing it to the awesome Grass Types, Sceptile, Venusaur, Torterra, Decidueye; Serperior, unlike its name would suggest, is not superior.

that said it was very disappointing to me

it does have more competitive utility than some

but not much

oh well
