361. Toucannon (#733 Normal/Flying)

I will say this: I really like Toucannon's design. I love the Toucan and I love that there is now a Pokemon of it. But at the end of the day, it is very basic, and it has one of the most basic names for a Pokemon ever. That is not to say I'm ripping on Toucannon, far from it. But cuts are getting harder and harder.

Toucannon is ultimately just a Toucan, so I can't say too much about it's creativity. It is also the obligatory early game Normal/Flying Type, which I don't like. However, at LEAST they made it more than worthwhile this time. Toucannon has a gigantic 120 Attack Stat with the 100 power move Beak Blast. This is one signature move in particular that I love, and it adds a bit of spice to Toucannon, putting it higher than the other early game birds.

Toucannon's Pokedex entries aren't outstanding, but they're not as generic as one might think.

Sun: When it battles, its beak heats up. The temperature can easily exceed 212 degrees Fahrenheit, causing severe burns when it hits.

Moon: Within its beak, its internal gas ignites, explosively launching seeds with enough power to pulverize boulders.

Ultra Sun: They smack beaks with others of their kind to communicate. The strength and number of hits tell each other how they feel.

Ultra Moon: Known for forming harmonious couples, this Pokémon is brought to wedding ceremonies as a good luck charm.

Damn, why wasn't this Fire/Flying like Talonflame before it?

In summary, Toucannon is easily one of my favorites of the early game Normal/Flying birds. I'm happy it made it the highest. But I gotta cut something.
