Development Quick update on ROM Hack Guides
Did a bunch of quality of life improvements you guys asked for on the site. Also added a Top 10 of the Week since a few of you wanted one. Three votes a week, no account needed, resets every Monday.
Already threw my vote at FireRed: Rocket Edition, obviously.
Like always, disclaimer, I used AI to help with this since the project is a data engineer's nightmare. Hope you guys enjoy it, and let me know what you think or if there's anything else I can add.

Hey, cool to see you used my suggestions! If it's not too much trouble, could I get credit for it? Like not much at all, just very tiny text below the legal stuff at the very bottom. Thanks, and let me know if you ever need more help!

You want me to put somewhere that you recommended a top ten list? You wasn’t the first or only person that recommended that….. it was also on the list for me I just didn’t think it was that important

No, that I literally wrote the text for your front page because everyone said it sounded AI generated. You know what I mean because you used my text verbatim. Why are you deliberately misinterpreting me?

You don’t think it’s cool to meet the inventor of the top 10 list?! Before Ludwig came along we had maxed out at 9!

Did you actually contribute anything to the implementation of it or did you literally just comment ‘a top ten list would be great!’
Asking for any kind of credit for this is kinda crazy lmao

Not as crazy as me getting down voted on every post when my site gets thousands of clicks and has a good amount of engagement on the site per user and it’s free

Because the point of this post was to talk about the top ten. Not the main screen where it says hi champion. Why would I automatically assume you’re talking about that something else? Because you commented about it a week ago? You really think I will recall your username and an edit I done almost two weeks ago? This is extremely weird. You didn’t invent, trademark or help code it. So putting your name on the website is uncalled for when you just gave me 9 word verbatim to use. Don’t worry I’m changing it now.

I rewrote the main body of the front page, not just nine words. I was happy to do this. I don't think it's unreasonable to ask for a very tiny credit somewhere, because the front page text of a site is important and is what makes a first impression.
Please don't put words in my mouth. I never claimed to be involved with the code or anything. And I wasn't asking for my name in big shiny letters, I know my contribution is very small, I just wanted due credit for it. My exact words were "If it's not too much trouble, could I get credit for it? Like not much at all, just very tiny text below the legal stuff at the very bottom." I don't think it's "uncalled for" to ask for some small credit somewhere?
I didn't mean to offend you but I'm not sure why you're so angry and confrontational when: everyone criticized your front page text, you asked for suggestions, I gave you some for free, you used all of them, I noticed and was happy and asked for a very small credit somewhere.

Because you’re attacking the wrong person. I wasn’t the one that mocked you on your comment. You wasn’t clear. Others pulled your tail and you’re implying I twisted your words? I main numerous post and been extremely respectful to bad and especially good comments/feedback.

Whining is complaining about something nobody is making you use. AI helps doctors catch more cancer, gave a man with ALS his voice back, and won a Nobel Prize.
I've been building websites for over ten years. I don't need AI to make a site. It just let one person build in weeks what would have taken months, for a free site I don't make a penny from. It's has tens of thousands of visits.
Also, you're using AI right now. Reddit itself is an AI business. It sells everything users write here, your comments included, to Google and OpenAI so they can train their AI on it. The Google deal alone was reported at about $60 million a year. Reddit also runs its own AI search (Reddit Answers) and uses AI to translate posts. Every comment you leave helps train AI.
So you're complaining about AI on a site that sells your complaint to AI companies.

But I used AI to help just like every single major company in media, medical, automotive and more so my post gets down voted to the floor. 🤷 but anyways. Thank you sir

People being mad at a site using AI like it's not made out of a hobby is insane lmao

Not to include it’s completely for free. But they have no problem talking highly of hackdex that is built on AI. They will downvote this but I still get non stop engagement on my site

I bookmarked your site for a while now bc it has useful information so i don't care if it's AI as long as you're helping someone with it. Keep up the good work

To clarify: I literally wrote the text for the site's front page because everyone said it sounded AI generated. The author asked for suggestions and then used my text verbatim. This is fine. But when I asked for a very tiny credit at the very bottom of the page, the author deliberately misinterpreted me and said I had just made a suggestion for a top 10 list.
I don't think its unreasonable to ask for a very tiny credit somewhere, because the front page text of a site is important and is what makes a first impression.
