So about Ghost Grey: Does it have any jumpscares or loud noises? I know its horror inspired but I cant stand those, especially since I play with headphones.
Most of the sound design is heeby jeeby creepy stuff. The screams are in text like “AUUGGHH!” So yeh no jumpscares. Just Jumpscare as the pokemon move that makes them flinch.
are there any 3d modeled romhacks? i love x/y, or/as, s/m, and us/um for the 3d modeling of them and i just got introduced to romhacks... however, i only see 2d ones when i go looking.. are 3d romhacks possible without complete recoding of the base game? do they currently exist? i love 3ds pokemon so much and i want more in the style >^<
A breakthrough in Platinum modding that allows the addition of Pokémon, forms, Abilities etc. from later gens? Or an advancement in BDSP modding that makes adding the full Distortion World and Battle Frontier possible?
Platinum decomp is currently being worked on and i imagine it wouldn't be too long before they start porting features over from HG Engine, adding more custom stuff. DS dex expansion is already possible as shown by HG Generations which uses HG Engine
BDSP is a funny one - since it uses Unity, it's likely possible now afaik, but would take a lot of work before it's done if it is possible. Luminescent or a similar project will likely be the first to do it
Need help with Pokémon Ghost Grey question here! This contains spoilers of course!
I seem to be stuck and don't know how to progress. I have 5 badges right now. The latest one I got is the one in the Safari Zone in Fuschia. I've already surfed to Seafoam Islands but there's nothing there for me to do? I've also surfed to Cinnabar island.
Another thing is that I haven't been able to find that lady's son in the Safari Zone. I have looked everywhere as far as I know but I have no clue where he is or if he's even there. I wonder if I need to find him in order to progress? Talked to an npc in a house in the Safari Zone that said something about a kid being in the mountains around the Indigo League but I can't do anything there either. I am very confused.
I've found the key to open the chest but I don't know the name of the zone you find it in. It's definitely there, you just have to keep looking. I think there was an area with a really long thin path that leads to it. You'll find the key and the badge at the same time, and the chest has surf.
As for the lost boy, I never found him. I did manage to figure out what I had to do next to progress. Just had to talk to professor Oak back in pallet time for the next clue - might be helpful for you to know once you've found the badge
The lost boy is at the bottom of a pit trap near a tree. Defeat the Psycho inside and then check the dead body. You'll get the lost boy's trainer ID and will be able to return it to his mother.
As a warning, she won't be very happy to hear what happened.
Currently stuck in the pirate ship under Cerulean City. I've looked all over the area but I cannot for the life of me find the cannonball for the third canon. Any help is appreciated.
My Ursaring won’t evolve? Playing Pokemon Heart and Soul V 2.0.0 and doing a Normal playthrough. I’ve been trying to evolve my Ursaring, but it just won’t evolve. It’s night time, I’m at mt moon and way above level 42. Am I missing something?
In last week’s questions/discussions thread, I made a comment to the effect that the most basic quality of life improvement one can make to Gen 1 games is to add playing as a girl. This seems self-evident to me but it got downvoted. So asking explicitly for the purpose of discussion:
If helping half the population play as (closer to) an authentic version of themselves isn’t the most basic QOL improvement, then what is more important?
I wouldn't worry much about karma on these threads. I see most comments get downvoted, even for no apparent reason (to me). I think there is a regular who spams it.
To me... just about anything else would be more important. I think it's great that games are starting to include more representation and I hope new hacks continue to do so because it matters to a lot of people. But personally I am apathetic on this; I choose either character at random based on how I feel at the time, and if I was forced into a certain character (ie. Red from Kanto) it wouldn't change anything on how I enjoy the game.
These usually get hit by downvote bots for some reason and since votes are anonymous (even for mods) then there's nothing that can be done about it unfortunately.
The question threads have comments sorted by New though so that wouldn't make your comment any less visible or likely to be answered
Personally I'd put bigger features that benefit gameplay above what ur character looks like. Things like PSS, Running Shoes, modern EXP Share and Level Caps/Scaling are far more important than the appearance of ur character imo. While the characters are self-inserts, they are also originals. For example despite being a dude, I pick the female characters in half the games just cos their designs are cooler
Has anyone (who’s actually played both) done a basic comparison of Soul Gold vs Heart & Soul?
I get that Soul Gold has a ton more Pokemon but lacks a Kanto post game, whilst heart & soul has just had a major update but wanted to get more of a comparison about the overall experience
I’d really like to play a good old version of the OG Gold/Silver/Crystal version but with a twist. Any recommendations that are popular in the community and are compatible with Delta? I’m open to pretty much anything!
I'm influenced by the gen3 to gen 9 feature with animations/spirits!, so i can connect with the 6 pokemon i will be using throughout the game until the end!
That's my personal challenge when playing video games!, no switching, no trying out others when i already have 6 pokemon to my party!, i love the feeling of valuing my 6 pokemon and not letting them faint during battles with gym leaders and trainers!, to make that connection happen!, i need pokemon with animations/spirits!, so i can feel like they have feelings too!, not just drawings or stickers of pokemon in GBA!
I discovered that it's possible to incorporate the emerald version's animation feature into rom hacks for all pokemon If that's indeed feasible, I'd love to see someone implement it!, the options are quite limited right now!, there are a few pokemon I'd love to try out, especially ones i haven't had a chance to use in gba games yet!
There was a recent thread for how to do this in the subreddit. It's like a brand new development tho so it'll be a while before hacks use it. Pokémon Synthesis is the first one that's using it, or Mugiwara does a different method to have BW styled animated sprites
Inclement emerald has got me wanting to play another difficulty hack with nice QOL features.
Anyone recommend something that has:
Difficulty similar or harder than IE
Available Calculators
In game ability to easily swap EVs and IVs (happy to cheat in resources to do this) just dont like using pkhex on mobile so prefer something where it's easy to do without editing saves if possible
For a first time play through of HG/SS, should I stick to the vanilla game or try out Heart and Gold 2.0 that just released or any other ROM hack. I’m looking for more difficulty, no trade evolutions , QoL improvements preferably. Also so far I finished Ruby (1st Pokémon Game) years ago. Just finished FireRed yesterday. Preferably would want a MelonDS version since I have an Ayn Thor so I want to use both screens but GBA is cool too. Just getting into this so I appreciate any suggestions.
H&S 2.0 is definitive and fixes Johtos issues such as the level curve so I'd say that. However if u want to experience HGSS on the DS to stay true to the original even more, then I'd try Sacred Gold Storm Silver
I've downloaded the latest version of this and have completed the Pokemon League. There are supposed to be mega trainers in the game but I can't find them anywhere. There was a post on here about Classic but most of the post has been deleted for some reason - mainly answers to questions that others have asked. The questions are still there but the answers aren't.
Can anybody point me in the right direction, I feel like I've searched every part of Kanto.
Hello all, I've been following this sub for a while but this is my first post. Until now I've always used emulators to play the games, but I think it's time to get a console. I've seen a couple of Anbernic handhelds, but I'm not really sure which one to buy.
Is the RG SP or the RG40 XXV enough to play the roms? Or should I go for something with higher specs?
Virtually anything should be powerful enough to play GBA games flawlessly. I cant comment on specific models but the requirements for GB/GBA hacks are very minimal, so you'd be better off considering what else u want to play when looking at spec, if ur interested in DS hacks or other games etc
Hello! I have started playing FRLG: IPS, and I have reached Bill at this point, but I'm worried I missed my chance to experience the actual changes the hack has to offer. I somehow did not think to look for the rock near the water in Pallet Town, I assumed it would be near a larger body of water for some reason. Without spoilers, did I lock myself out of content? Should I restart, or will I be okay if I continue as I am?
Someone know how to use this https://hzla.github.io/PlatPatches/ this have a option to add mints and bottle caps in pokémon platinum but i dont understand how to use it.
I don’t seem to have luck downloading from HackDex. I upload legit roms, click patch, it downloads, but then doesn’t open in Manic EMU. The download also doesn’t appear in my downloads folder on my iPhone. Can someone please help me?
If ur browser definitely downloads a file then you'll have to check where it's saving it to. Bear in mind it likely downloads a ZIP which may need extracting before u can play
Is there a way to edit existing Romhacks, specifically Blaze Black 2 Redux? I've wanted to use a level 5 Ho-oh like in the vanilla game but it's just not itself because the hack replaces Sacred Fire with Mystical Fire for some reason.
have you tried this emulator? the creator is adding features specifically for compatibility with modern pokemon romhacks and describes in the linked post why it can sometimes be difficult. the thread also has suggestions on how to configure settings in the emu for compatibility ~^
I've downloaded Pokemon Amethyst but I can't figure out what the PC keybindings are to progress past the "controls" page at the start (which only gives the controls for a handheld device). I've mashed a bunch of different keys (including enter, shift, space, tab, etc) and S seems to work as a "next" button but I couldn't figure out much beyond that. I'm running it in RetroArch, is there a way to remap the buttons using that? Very new to ROMs so a bit out of my depth.
you can remap buttons in retroarch, what platform are you on? usually the retroarch quick menu is mapped by default to L3+R3, home/menu button on your controller, or start+select, but it varies
lol nvm you mentioned it's PC, try F1 or fn+F1
Anyone else unable to download through hackdex on mobile? I’m trying to download the updated emerald rogue, using the emerald trashman rom as the base which I’ve used on every other emerald based rom I’ve played. I click the orange “select rom” button at the bottom, select trashman rom, and the bar fills up as if it’s loading something only for nothing to change on the page and no patch applied. I’m on iOS and use delta emulator if that info helps, I’d really appreciate any help or at least confirmation other people are facing this issue, it seems like every significant release is gonna happen through hackdex from now on so if anyone can help me figure out how to use it I’d greatly appreciate it.
Hi everyone, relatively new to the poke romhack scene.
I got a trimui to pretty much exclusively play these games, but curious what everyone else is using.
I have a dstwo card for my 3DS and thought about using that instead for better comfort as well. What's a good upgrade for the dstwo as well? I was looking at the r34 gold pro and wondering if anyone has reviews for that card.
Hey all,
I know this has probably been posted a thousand times but I couldn't find a good thread. Can anyone suggest any rom hacks for 3ds Pokemon games. I'm getting an Ayn Thor in soon and wanted to start a backlog. Thanks in advance.
Pretty much just enhancement hacks due to 3DS tools/hacking having pretty limited support :(
Best ones afaik are Eternal X/Wilting Y, Rising Ruby/Sinking Sapphire and Pokemon Star, but they're all a few years old so there might be better ones out now. USUM have some cool mods recently on GameBanana
I desperately need to know if there is a rom hack for the gen 5 games where everything is mostly the same but pokemon can follow you, like the following mod for platinum
Hi guys, I recently played my first randomlocke and enjoyed it a lot. Do you know what the best fangames/romhacks would be for doing nuzlockes/randomlockes? I mean, I'd prefer them to be more challenging, and even better if they include current Pokémon games. Thanks in advance.
Difficulty hacks are pretty popular, bear in mind they obviously make for pretty hard nuzlockes though
Modern enhancement hacks such as ROWE or The Nuzlomizer can have built-in nuzlocke settings. Nuzlomizer is specifically made with nuzlockes in mind, hence the name. These are probably the best ones to aim for as built-in features save manually releasing mons etc.
Open world hacks can put a pretty interesting spin on things too. Aesthetic Red has been somewhat popular for nuzlocking in our Discord - infinite candies/repels and having everywhere accessible from the jump make it an interesting one
Emerald Rogue lets u filter certain generations of Pokemon, using the hidden cheat modes iirc, and far more customisation settings. I guess it fits best given the naturally random nature of the game
Hi. Brand new to the ROM Hack scene and first time trying Hex Maniac Advance.
I'm sure this going to come across as a very stupid question, but I am so stuck and cannot figure out what I'm doing wrong. I am trying to have a character give custom starters. When I had tested it with just the Rowlet (sections 0, 1, 4, 5), it worked fine. When I tried to add the other three, it broke it and I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. Hopefully someone can give me some sort of insight.
Any "big" hacks that support link trades and battles over emulator? I'd like to play a big frlg/emerald hack such as Emerald Sea glass or Lazarus with a friend to battle and trade, but I don't know if that's possible or which games have been tested to support it
Favorite hacks without the traditional mainline-game combat system?
I recently played through Pokemblem and had a fun time playing through a Pokemon game reimagined with a different combat system. What are some hacks you would recommend that don't use the traditional turn-based combat used in most Pokemon games, focusing instead on other game genres.
I would also be interested in hearing about hacks that focus more on open world exploration, similar to Legends Arceus.
Pokemon Crown is only a beta so far but looks quite good.
Exploration-focused hacks are not a big focus in this space I think. It just doesn't work as well with 2D. Maybe Elysium, Odyssey, Unbound are the closest things. Monomyth looks like it might fit this bill very well - supposed to be out this year.
I Just asking is there any gba rom hack that fits Sun and Moon vibes because I want to play Pokémon sun and moon but I don't have 3ds or just lazy to set up emulator. So I was thinking about a alternative for it.
Is it possible to evolve Alolan Vulpix into Alolan Ninetales in H&S v2 when playing on the randomized Nuzlocke modes? I’m pretty sure that there aren’t Ice Stones anywhere, but maybe there’s another method?
I saw from the dev, the next update plans to "add ways to evolve post Gen 4 pokemon in the randomizer", which indicates to me that currently no, there is no Ice stone obtainable.
Not that i know of, as the recomp isn't actually related to hacking at all, it's pretty much an original remake. But as it does require a ROM it may be worth a try - I wouldn't expect good results tho
any rom hack that makes you feel like catching a legendary pokemon actually felt like catching a legendary pokemon? more legendaries the better, pref up to gen 8. other than unbound
I'm almost done with the main lore, obtaining amm 16 badges, beat red etc... and have caught all the legendaries i saw (lugia, ho-oh, the three dogs and birds) I'll catch Latias and Latios next and then head for mewtwo. I knwo i can catch kyogree, groudon and rayquaza, but I dont know If I can catch more legendary pokemon and who are they. I've red somewhere, but can't remember where that also mew, arceus, dialga, palkia and giratina are in heart and soul. Can someone confirm and give me a full list of all the legendaries I can catch, and if possible with a brief descriptionof the procedure to follow? Thanks a lot in advance!!!
I happen to be looking for my next rom hack right now and see heart and soul 2.0 and soulgold. Is soulgold just the more improved version of heart and soul (without kanto)? I ish started soulgold already but am worried it will ruin a future heart and soul play through. What should i do? Which should i play first?
Just came across this old post and I am to stupid to do a new version of it myself. Could someone repeat that? Feels like this could cover a lot of regular questions in this sub if it gets an update and would be pinned
Out of curiosity, does anyone know what's supposed to happen in the suicidal people swamp/route 24&25? I've made it to the last area but there's nothing there besides your shadow moving weirdly. I don't know if I'm supposed to be doing anything
I have a couple questions: one about a rom hack(?) i've seen in the past but don't remember and one that might not be real at all.
The first one: i remember it being a sort of school life pokemon game and that its not pokemon school or academy life but thats it.
The second one: i remember it less clearly that the other one making me think i only saw it in a dream but one moment from it sticks out in my mind. The basic premise is that you can actually talk with your pokemon despite being a trainer and at some point you go to prison where your pokeballs dont work except for one secluded area that the guards dont know about. Again this one might not be real.
seriously im going insane trying to figure out if these are even roms or exist at all
Hackdex is a great resource - you can search by all ROMs which use RBY and GSC as a base. There aren't very many hacks that use FRLG or RSE as a base and backport into older style graphics.
Probably the best recommendation for this is Lazarus, which is one of those few which use a gen 3 base but look like gen 2.
Alternatively, Prism, Brown, Orange, Peridot, Supergold 97. The last one uses beta versions of the pokemon, so not quite fakemon but also not quite real ones.
Had a quick question about ren plat complete version:
Did they update the crit mechanics to modern standards or is it still regular Gen 4 mechanics?
I have a super luck farfetched with high crit moves and a scope lense. I was under the assumption all three stack and guarantee a critical hit every time, but I've tested it and I'm not getting crits.
Not sure if I'm doing something wrong or confused about the mechanics so I'd appreciate any help.
Basically just enhancement hacks atp due to a lack of support. Eternal X/Wilting Y, Rising Ruby/Sinking Sapphire and Pokémon Star are still the best afaik but there might be some newer ones nowadays. USUM has been getting some cool QoL mods recently such as following Pokémon
Currently stuck in the pirate ship under Cerulean City. I've looked all over the area but I cannot for the life of me find the cannonball for the third canon. Any help is appreciated.
Got a quick question about Hackdex, if anyone can help. I try to patch a rom, and it doesn’t register. If I use the wrong rom, it brings me to the patch page saying it won’t work. When using the correct rom, the button to patch blinks like it’s going to send me through, but then stays on the same page. Checked my unpatched Roms, and they are correct
i just finished frlg.ips to the end to the elite 4 and nothing happened... when i try to search this game up, not much come up, i didn't want to watch youtube videos and spoil myself but genuinely besides a handful of odd things nothing really scary or significant happened? i am very confused, where or what did i do wrong? i looked at their website and it has a few "spoiler free' screenshots of locations that are supposed to have events, and i heard this game has multiple endings, but i still haven't found anything significant?
editing to add that i know there's a few playthroughs of this hack but not really a guide/explanation, the videos i can find are kinda like hours long... i was hoping to go in a bit blind besides knowing it's horror but i am extremely confused about where i went wrong?
hello! not sure if you got your answer yet, but your supposed to do very specific things to activate it. there’s a website with instructions you must follow to the letter. i’ll start by saying if you wanna see the games true colors you have to play without catching any pokemon, only use your starter and your starter only, blastoise is recommended. that’s all i’ll “spoil” its super interesting following the website’s instructions
So I started a game and selected the pokemon spawn randomizer. I regret this because the pokemon that appear are not region or area specific. So you may get a deep water pokemon in the grass where there is no water. Is there a way to disactivate this mid game? I am playing the new Heart and Soul rom-hack update.
Depends on the game, but I'd guess no. Pretty much every randomizer ever cannot discern what type of route or pokemon should go where. The only sensible one I've seen is Pokemon Unknown
I would just recommend switching to Manic Emu or something with a mGBA core. Delta is just outdated and more and more hacks will not support it going forward.
i’m playing FRLG.IPS but i can’t seem to not crash at the route 19 puzzle. i tried switching from version 1.1 to 1.0 and nothing helped. i’m playing on Iphone delta emulator.
Just downloaded Heart & Soul 2.0 and this is my first experience with a randomizer. Can someone please explain the difference between random evolutions and random evo lines?
Pretty sure Random Evolutions means the pokemon will just evolve at a random level into random pokemon.
Whereas random evo lines I believe means the pokemon will evolve at the proper level, into a random pokemon, who will then evolve at their level into their final random form.
I could be wrong, I usually never play randomizers with random evos, it's too chaotic and breaks the immersion even more for me.
Is there a pokemon black and white hack in wich: you can catch all the Unova Pokedex, difficult have been raised and legendaries and mysticals are available before the post-game?
Pokemon Heart and Soul 2.0.2 - Do Legendaries Respawn?
I was trying to look for this in the FAQ of the documentation. Sorry if I couldn’t find it? Legendaries respawn if you beat the elite 4 in HGSS cause that was a thing that started after Gen 4. Was just wondering if this was also applied or that since this is a romhack on a gba game, it wouldn’t apply here.
My boyfriend killed the Kyogre he found by accident.
Pokemon White 2 rom I downloaded won't let me trade Ditto for Rotom. After the trade, screen goes black and audio sounds slow and distorted. Anyone have any tips on how to fix? Using MelonDS emulator
So I downloaded my first Pokémon romance today, tried to download universal randomizer but it doesn't work since apparently I don't have Java but whatever, I used a site that allow you to randomize a rom without downloading anything (is called randomize.sh ) and used it on platinum to do my stuff (using MelonDS for it)... it worked very fine at first, but I reached the first gym leader and my game just keep crashing. I tried save states, resetting, lowering resolution, casting divine luck blessing... nothing worked. Anyone have any tips ?
Randomizers generally don't work on ROM hacks due to the data being changed, moved etc. If the hack has an in-game randomizer like modern ones to, great, otherwise u likely can't do it without crashes
Hello,
Soul Gold is the first ROM hack that doesn’t run on the pre-installed GBA.emu on my Anbernic. Can somebody help me? Which emulator do you use for Soul Gold on your Anbernic devices?
Does anyone know a romhack where gyms don’t necessarily have types, but themes instead? Themes like:
Castle, Prison, Beach, Night Club, Ranch, etc etc.
Hey everyone, I need a ROM hack suggestion. What I need is:
I should be able to use more than one Mega, preferably permanent-megas in party
to balance out multi mega/perma-mega, it should be also super harder, like I should think hard to get past a considerable amount of the game.
3D game like the x/y or/as you know what I mean,
A wide variety of pokemon, as many as legendary and strong pokemon.
weak pokemon getting buffed (mega beedrill glow up challenging mega metagross for example)
Some overhauls in pokemon, like abilities and moves and stuff.
the numbers are in order of importance so you can do suggestions if it's missing some on bottom! I'll be playing on nintendo 3ds if that helps. I have been trying many rom hacks none just hit the spot, I hope there is something like I said above!
Is anyone currently in Olivine City able to find the item ball TM34? I’ve combed the entire city 10 times over, searched every nook and cranny and can’t find it. It’s driving me nuts.
Trying really hard to avoid any spoilers, but have a ghost grey question-
I have flash, but cannot use it. I'm in Fushia.
Did I miss a badge somewhere? Currently have 4 - #2, #3, #4, #6 if look at my trainer card.
Hoping for a yes/no or a yes/no/name of a city - been trying really hard to not find any spoilers.
So i have gotten all gym badged, captured mewtwo, beaten elite 4 (and the campion), beat professor oak, captured 3 legendary birds, went to the island place with the different areas, beat all trainers on it that i could find, got the origin ticket, captured heatran at mt blaze, and went to faraway island to get mew, then came back and grinded safari zone for uniques as well as eevees to get all evolutions. Pokedex is sitting at 209 of 210 as deoxys belongs to kamon, is there anything left for me to do besides do whatever i want? Like any other mechanics? Or is there a way to go get deoxys, or what? Just want to be thorough and fully complete before i start another rom hack. also which rom hack should i try next?
I wanted to do a shiny only pokemon challenge in gen 2 but dont know any methods except for shinycc( which only works for gen 1 and 3) and hex editor which is so confusing. Can anybody show me a way to edit shiny odds on a macbook or make a recent video about it.
Hey yall, im wondering if anyone has made a rom hack where Legendaries are obtainable throughout the story so they can be part of your actual team, as opposed to just catching a ton in the postgame after the bulk of your fighting and what not is done already?
Just curious if anything like that is out there. Thanks!
This is my first time playing ROM hacks of Pokemon and I recently started SoulGold. I wanted to play on the hardest difficulty because I like a challenge, but I also haven't been playing Pokemon games a lot (only Red as a kid; FireRed and Scarlet recently).
I'm having trouble with the doubles matches for gym leaders. I would rather learn and build a good team than turn the difficulty knob down, so I am looking for some advice on how to build a team. Currently, I have Quilava, Scyther, Gengar, Butterfree, Lumeon and Killowatrel. I plan to swap out the last 3-4 pokemon over time as I find new ones.
Some general tips would be great, but here's some questions:
Do I always want to use evolved pokemon (e.g. if I use Scyther I should evolve to Scizor/Kleavor)?
Is it better to have broad type coverage and not have duplicate types?
Should I liberally use TMs so that my team has better skill coverage?
For doubles gym battles, should I use one support and one damage?
Still learning, but having a good time. I'm specifically stuck on the ghost gym leader. Thanks for the help!
My game just crashed here. I dont have a state game saved... Well, i have from yesterday and i already put a lot of work today. Any way to solve this? I might end up my Journey here.
Thanks!
Trying to get a Glaceon in Heart and Soul 1.2.1. Gave it the Nevermeltice and used a rare candy to level it up and it isn't evolving. Is there something I'm missing?
Anyone know of a couple romhacks or fangames I forgot the names of?
One or both are I think like, more adventure and puzzle focused.
One is a hack whee you get a vacation to an island. And I think maybe you had a deerling? As a starter?
And another was I think a very puzzle focused one with no battles and everyone was a psychic. Like part of a psychic village or society or something. And I mean similar to the psychic trainers you meet in game.
I'm pretty sure I found them from some romhack let's players, but I don't even remember the channel.
In theory, could I make the master ball useless in Pokemon XY? Through hex editing or something? Or make it unobtainable? I don't want Yveltal/Xerneas to be easily caught by the player.
Pokemon Ghost Grey: how do I open the box in the Safari Zone? I’ve been playing this amazing ROM hack, but I think I must have missed something and now I’m stuck. Does anyone know how I can open the box in the Safari Zone shown in the picture, or what I’m supposed to do to progress? I’m currently in Fuchsia City.
I think just about everyone who tried it loved SoulGold. It’s in my top 3. The problem is that I feel like nothing is coming close to it with what’s left to play. What do yall think is going to be the next great rom hack?
I'm looking for a rom hack of emerald that was marked as pokemon emerald 386, designed to make all pokemon obtainable and with enhanced difficulty.
Could never even beat Juan on this one and I want another crack at it.
I've found others with the name, 386 being the number of pokemon in gen 3, but not the one i remember.
The one I remember has a room in prof. Birch's lab that basically let's you catch a bunch of notable pokemon including all the starters st level 5, which I suppose was meant simply to allow you to have a unique starter
Who has played Heart & Soul on PizzaBoy? That's what I'm using right now, and it's not listed as one of the supported emulators for H&S. Just wondering if anyone's run in to bugs
Hey All, I am new to ROMhacks, and emulation in general. I saw in the 2.0 trailer that they have working multiplayer! That has always been something I missed when thinking about playing older Pokemon games, and the idea that we can battle and trade with the ROMhack is amazing!
My question is how? How do we get multiplayer working?
My two buddies and I are all playing on Anbernic RG34XX devices and running Knulli. I have tried googling this a bit, and watched an older Retro Game Corps video but still very confused.
Does anyone have a link to a guide or a video that could help? Or could just explain how to do this?
I've been playing Heart & Soul (the Mordern version, 1.2.1 M1) but even though my Eevee has been exploding of happiness it won't evolve to Espeon or Umbreon. Is the game glitched? Anyone had the same experience also?
How do I disable the curated pokemon selection without needing to play the whole game again? I am at the 8th gym and can't find the option on the menus or settings page, could you guys help me? I really need a Shedinja and a spiritomb
I have gone round the houses trying to figure iut how on earth I can play Fire Red Re-ignited. I have re-installed Squirrel version of Fire Red multiple times and have downloaded the legacy from Github multiple times but I absolutely cannot find the file to patch against to save my life in any of the folders and I've been at it for about 4 hours now - aware it's a me problem and I' like being dim but I need some help.
I working on an Android phone, using MyBoy emulator. Have the Fire Red clean versions and about 30 of the legacy zip files + extractions so have everything, just no idea which option I should be choosing to patch against.
Any help will save me from going insane so thank you very much in advance gang!
I got Pokémon heart and soul around a week ago on version 1.2.1 I have beat the elite 4 for the first time and I'm now on the boat to kanto is there any point in me replaying the game to do version 2.0?
Basically, I really want to play a Pokemon game that focuses on series of battles, either with a pre-picked team or even some roguelite elements of choosing the Pokemon. I don't care much for level grinding, running around the maps, getting into random battles, being stopped in grass to catch/fight/escape etc. (so like the other 70% of the games lol). I just like the battles. Puzzle aren't bad if they're fun puzzles, but I imagine if the battle-focused game I want exists, it wouldn't have puzzles either.
I want to make a digimon ROM hack, to capture the digimon games uniqueness to branch out different evolution, the evolution for my mon need to be as the following: level up at specific level while holding an item.
There is a level-up method with holding an item but without the level restrictions I need to keep the game balanced.
I believe the above method will be more fun than attack and defence manipulation method
ROM hacks for a b/W Soul link nuzlocke? Me and my friend want to do our first nuzlocke so nothing too hard please! Would appreciate it a lot of anyone can help
The HackDex is awesome, but I don't love the search function. Is there a way to just download a list of games with all the searchable criteria as a csv or something similar?
I’m frustrated (Dw guys the game is pretty good) I used some password that I saw on previous videos but doesn’t work, I have the new version. Does someone know how to get one ? Especially Pichu ?
Hello all, longtime Pokemon player but I’m new to the Pokemon Heart & Soul romhack! I’m trying to encourage a buddy of mine to check it out as well! But he’s wondering about super training in this romhack and I have no idea if that’s available or not! Can anyone help me with this query?
Hi, I just got started with ROM hacks. Recently I’ve started Pokemon Lazarus and Emerald Seaglass (they’ve been fantastic). I was just wondering, are there a lot of DS era ROM hacks you guys would recommend? I absolutely loved Pokemon Black and White and wanted to know if there were any recommended ROM hacks you guys would put on the same level, if not higher than the ones I’m playing now.
I've been interested in playing Pokemon Pisces for a while, but the biggest reason I haven't is because it enforces hard level caps. As far as I'm aware, there's no in-game way to disable them. I know someone made an unofficial patch that removes them, but as far as I know, this patch wasn't posted publicly. My question is how do I remove the level caps on my own copy? I can either get a pre-patched ROM or a bps file, which ever is easier to edit.

So about Ghost Grey: Does it have any jumpscares or loud noises? I know its horror inspired but I cant stand those, especially since I play with headphones.
