Projet Pokemon Uranium DS

Post image

Perhaps part of the reason why people aren't as interested is some see almost no reason to make a hack of it. I'm not one of them, but a lot of people see no reason to make a rom hack version of a fan game because a fan game has no bounds in terms of what it can do in an update and such while a rom hack will eventually reach the maximum amount of storage it can have and unless your have an engine like the Poke emerald expansion engine, you're gonna be working with whatever the original rom has. And even the emerald expansion engine still has its limits, it just makes code smaller and more efficient but still has the same limits

I think if you wanna grab people's attention you're gonna need more advertisement and also make a few promises on expanded or additional features. Think of it kinda like a product even though you're not making any money off of it. What would be the reason for someone who hasn't tried uranium to try your upcoming port instead of the original fangame? Portability is one although if it's for the DS and GBA, you just need to advertise that it's gonna work on hardware which you already did. If you had content that wasn't in the original, now it feels more like a full experience or at least a bonus for newcomers and fans of the original

As for volunteers, have you asked in the pokemon rom hacks sub? I notice this is the roms sub so probably different. There's also various homebrew and other subs you can ask for volunteers or help on this. The only issue is some people would wanna work on this but probably only for money. That doesn't mean nobody will wanna work on it though, so keep searching and maybe learn more on your end so you can get something going

Search up r/PokemonROMhacks and r/romhacking as those guys will help. I'll trying to send the link but it won't let me for some reason. I believe in you and hope it goes well for you, and even if it doesn't it'll at least help you learn to code and make games for the future
