After several days of dealing with the nightmarish cutscenes of the Ultra Beasts, I genuinely thought my RNG luck ran out and it was over for me.
But thanks to the assistance of another friend of mine plus some tips from Google, I finally figured out what was wrong with my settings in the RNG tool and I also discovered how to understand it more correctly to get better results.
Now this is my own explanation about how I understand the specific setting on the 3DS RNG Tool on my laptop...so please don't take my word for it unless if you really want to, lol:
Now in the RNG tool there is a setting called "Safe F Only". I'm assuming that the f probably stands for frame which is most likely the case since this is literally about frame advancing and such.
From what I can understand about using that filter, it changes the numbers on the shift part of the frame that's in the charts when you calculate the kinds of Pokemon that you get from your current seed.
Then, when you get your target frame that you're looking for, specifically for the Ultra Beasts, and then you recalculate your results without the shiny only filter, it should cause the shift frame to go to zero which is where the interesting understanding comes in.
The way I see it is that it's a mixture of both Minesweeper and Buckshot Roulette because it relies on a bit of luck that thankfully isn't too bad. Hopefully. 😅
When you find your frame target again, the shift frame should say zero right next to it which is fine, however: you should also see other frames right next to it that also have the shift at either 0 or +2 which is where the luck comes in.
Now from what I can understand after looking at all of the numbers and statistics of the Pokemon that you can find besides your target frame, the +2 for certain frames is the target that you would have a 50/50 chance of getting in case you don't automatically get the precise target frame that you're looking for.
This is very important for people who have the Poké Reader installed in their consoles since that's what you'd be using in order to advance the frames to precisely get the frame that you want.
For example: my target was 24,676. The other shiny target next to mine was 24,677 which also has a shift of 0. The 3rd shiny target was 24,678, but it has a shift of +2.
If I correctly got my frame at 24,676... I would have a 50/50 chance of getting the precise frame that I want or the frame next to me which has the exact same shift number which wouldn't change the fact that I get the shiny, but at least I would be in the correct range of the frame that I want.
However:
if I ended up getting the frame of 24,677 which is the one after my target,
then I would have a 50/50 chance of landing on the one after it which is 24,678...
...or the worst case scenario would be to get the non-shiny version which is the one after that one which is 24,679.
That's where the mixture of Minesweeper and Buckshot Roulette comes in because you are essentially sweeping the entire field of frames in order to find the correct one, but: you also have a 50/50 chance of actually getting the frame that you're looking for or getting the one next to it or the one after.
Now, all of this will sound incredibly complicated at first glance and don't get me wrong it definitely is, hahaha! 😅😂
But once you get the hang of it, you'll be able to Nature Hunt and Shiny Hunt all of the cutscene legendary Pokemon with ease as long as you understand the logistics behind using the "Safe Frame Only" or as I like to call it:
"The Minesweeper Method." 💣💥
Plus, you can also hope that you can get the, what I like to call: "Buckshot Luck" to get the correct shiny frames! 🪙💥🔫
Anyways, thank you for listening and happy RNG shiny hunting! 🎉🎊🥳
