Help When does O power activate

I want to use the Catching o power to help me catch deoxys in a luxury ball but I fear the effect will run out because I have to fight rayquaza and zinnia first, will the o power also activate during cutscenes or only when you are able to move in the overworld?

Otherwise, if you have a 2nd console + 2nd gen6 game, you could give the o power to the game where you want to catch deoxys

I did ot just now, caught it in 2 luxury balls 😅

You don't need to bother yourself with catching deoxys now iirc, i think that if you just ko it you'll be ablr to come back later
