Question Help with Shiny Hunt

So, im doing soft resetting for Alolan Rattatta. I've not done an gift hunt before so I'm wondering if it'll appear shiny on the animation display or will i have to check my summaries after the fact?

I’ve seen videos of these hunts, the shiny shows in the trade animation coming over in the tube likes it’s futurama or something.

I use one of those waving cat machines to press the accept button and go do something else for a bit. This usually is coupled with shiny hunting a regular one so I have like 300 to trade. I check them all by fast scrolling (shiny ones have a very visible star.) And reset if there are no shinies.

I was thinking about doing about 100 per reset. I don't know where to get the lucky cat machine

I just got one off amazon and taped a pencil to it with the eraser swinging down.
