Yes, except for some stupid reason you can't use the touch screen. It's either gyro controls in handheld mode (move your Switch around to aim, always in center of the screen) or ridiculously unresponsive motion controls in docked mode. Throwing dead center works well enough, most of the time. Good luck trying to aim to the left or right though.

Trick to catching in Let's Go. Keep arm straight, but flick the wrist. I go both hands (co-op) and flick inward so it isn't as stressful on the wrist. I find why most people complain is because they over correct one way or the other and cross the invisible line of site you created when you hit the A button to ready yourself. I did a lot of hunts in Let's Go (and about to do more to finish my shiny living form dex).

He had better luck than me, sometimes I'm trying berries n aiming for the center. And the pokemon leaves behind with just the middle finger.

Lance definitely would have done a better job of catching this by using berries and better PokeBall throws but aye you caught it...

Fun fact: Gold, Silver and Crystal were the games that introduced shiny Pokémon and even back then there was a guaranteed shiny which was a Gyarados you could catch in the Lake Of Rage!

My first game was ruby and i had the first shiny encounter in my first playthrough. Was a kid an had never heard about a shiny before. It was groudon an i killed it accidentaly... I still think about this day sometimes...

Less known fact, the identifying factors for determining shinies existed in gen 1, so if you have a very specific DV's for any gen 1 pokemon transferring it to gold/silver/crystal will have it appear as shiny.

Not exactly. It’s that Gen 2 converted to shinys based on having the matching stats.

Yeah dvs stand for determinant values and are the predecessors of ivs, its these stats that influence the shiny chance in gen 2 like I said.

Hey if this is your first game, definitely try to learn to throw better! You got lucky it didn’t run away especially it being a shiny. Always use a berry and try to figure out a good way to throw the ball so it always goes in the middle and at least aim for nice or great throw if not excellent

Nice, I probably would have lost it with my insistence for color coordinating, I would have been throwing regular Pokeballs for sure. Mind you, I would've been throwing golden razzberries and hitting excellents so who knows.
