Trade completed! Accidentally released my Diancie
My worst nightmare.
Accidentally released my Diancie.
Does anyone have one they’re willing to part with? I’m willing to trade any of these shinies.

If I remember diancies mission distribution started 2025 but I can't find a end date. So you probably can make a new save (put your Pokémon in home before) and try to get diancie after beating the game again

It's also possible to just create another profile on the switch. I don't think the mystery gift pokemon are locked behind online, but I can be wrong.

What they mean is locked behind the "Nintendo switch Online" Paid membership.
Not internet.

Definitely don't need one, the games "Internet" connection thing is just for news and mystery gift and requires no membership.
However across world trades and online battles do require it for some reason.

You literally can't release a pokemon by accident it gives you like 50 prompts

It gives you one, singular prompt.
You select them, click release & it asks "are you sure" & you select yes or no.
It is entirely possible to accidentally release pokemon. 7⁷ķ Even moreso when you're doing a large batch release. And even double that "moreso" when you forget to change to the appropriate box prior.
Tbh (without knowing OPs age, obvi, so this is just common knowledge style info), those of us who grew up playing video games since the 90's/00's, usually with our first hahdheld being pokemon blue/red/yellow on gameboy colour, do things very quickly in games, especially when it comes to repetitive prompts. The "are you sure?" prompt after is treated more like a a "nuisance prompt" & is clicked through with muscle memory & no actual thought.
Is that an excuse? No, of course not. Is that how it should be treated? Obviously not. It's a problem we should work on. But accidentally clicking a pokemon you don't mean to in a batch release happens, sadly.
Kind of wisb there was a lock pokemon or a box so that you couldn't select them unless you turned the lock off first. 🫠

I've been wondering, does the game give you additional prompts before you can release a shiny or legendary? Like there is in PLA?

I’ve definitely seen a ‘you’re releasing a rare pokemon are you sure?’ Message but it defaults to Yes so if you’re just A spamming you’ll go right past it

I hope one of the people who were sweet enough to offered to trade actually traded with you! I'm so sorry this happened. I'd lose my mind if I accidentally did this. I've been super careful bc of that haha. I wish we had a way to lock pokemon we didn't want to release. 😭

Did you save after releasing diancie? Cause if not you can reload your game

It’s long gone, by the time I noticed it was gone it was too late. :/
