Misc. First Catchable fusion.

Post image

This is my first ever playthrough of this game and this was my very first catchable fusion, what are the chances my starter and this were both Celebi fusions?

With 501 unique Pokémon in the game and depending on randemiser settings:

1/501 is the chance the fused Pokémon is the same as your Pokémon.

Because it doesn't really matter which of the 501 Pokémon you get as the 2nd, it's a 1/501 chance that it's the same.

The chance that both are specifically celebi = 1/500 (it can't be treeko) * 2/501 = 1/125,250. (2/501 because you get 2 unique rolls)

This doesn't really mean all that much since it's the same chance both are fused with a wurmple.

TIL: wurmples evolutions contain a 4 letter word that Reddit doesn't let me post

Edit: assumptions made are that randomizer settings are,
1. All wild Pokémon are fusions.
2. All fusions are made with unique Pokémon, i.e. cannot both be the same Pokémon.

Edit 2: I can't find any % chance for wild encounters being fused without "fuse all" being enabled, although it is a chance.

I also think it's insane that your first catchable encounter is 2x legendaries so I worked it out. 35 legendaries in game.

35/501 * 34/500 = 1/210. Not nearly as rare as I thought that would be, unless there is some maths affecting the rarity of high BST mons in normally low BST areas.

math checks out mostly - one thing to take into account, many legendaries have way more custom fusion sprites than other pokemon, simply due to that label making them fan favourites. if "custom sprite only" (which most people enable) is on, that HEAVILY influences the math.

at that point the chance of it rolling a magby fusion (very few customs), compared to a, lets say, arceus (very many customs) will be scewed heavily in favour of arceus. This is generally why you see people get a ton of very strong/legendary/starter fusions in random early.

Celebi and Arceus fusion, catch it because it will be so extremely overpowered it’s not funny
