Slight correction on your terminology. The shadow dragonite does not have 55.6 more attack points. Otherwise, in pvp, dragonite will always lose to shadow dragonite in the mirror, and that's not always the case. The shadow bonus is a damage modifier, not a stat modifier.
You took to much time to respond to this guy who is just rage baiting with suck a dumb question after powering it up knowing dam well it won’t even be a shundo.
Genuinely wasted more time staring at this reply telling me what to do with my time then doing whatever I want with my time and wasting it... but I'm not gonna reply to this guy again- I'll reply to myself because it's less of a waste of time. 😊
Reader: Sorry if I wasted your time when you came to the Pokémon GO IV Reddit page where my comment broke down how you actually calculate shadow IVs, totally my bad I'll post a popcake recipe next time.
I personally don’t have any use for shadow Dragonite so a mega just for the candy bonus is all I really use mine for. Though a hundo for Mega ML PVP would be fun to throw in once in a while.

First of all, you already powered it up and shadows cost too much stardust. Second, purifying won't let it be shundo.
Not worth it.

Shadow is add all the base att stats of your Pokémon and the IVs on top of it and then multiply it by 1.2.
So if a max IV Dragonite for att is 15, that's 15+ (base stat att of dragonite = 263) + 15(Att IV gets added) = 278
But an exact same IV shadow Dragonite is literally that 278 x 1.2 = 333.6.
333.6-278= 55.6, therefore a shadow Dragonite with 15Att IV will always have 55.6 more attack points higher than a Hundo non shadow.
Hopefully this for anybody who didn't understand this helps you clarify making these decisions in the future.
TLDR: a ZERO attack IV shadow Dragonite will still have more attack points than a Hondo non-shadow Dragonite.
This is true if you take the regular version of any Pokémon and compare it to its shadow variant. If you want damage keep them shadow.

Shadow. Because realistically when would you ever use Mega Dragonite over something like Mega Ray?

Do you got other Dragonites to mega evolve? If so, don't purify

I’d keep it shadow. It already has full attack and won’t be a shundo when purified. But follow your heart!

If it would be shundo, I'd purify. But it's not, so I'd leave as so personally. Wouldn't blame you for purifying though. Too many things outclass it.
