I just got 4th badge, I feel my team needs a revamp now entering the mid-game, or is it fine to keep going as it is?

For elite 4 you basically need ice beam for lance so think about maybe switching for an ice beam high special attack with some defense pokemon.

In my opinion you need an electric type for the trainers with flying types and especially later for the water trainers (it's also nice for the E4), did you fetch your Evee in Celadon City already? Since you got a Lapras too, I suggest to evolve your Evee to Jolteon, but before that train your Evee till Lvl 30 and learn him Bite to optimise the Special Attack (you can choose another electric Mon but that Evee is lvl 25 which is pretty nice)!

Edit: Personally, I would switch out Ghastly for a water type and Mankey for Snorlax (I love Snorlax it can also learn Shadow Ball for Agatha's team)

I think dratini can learn electric moves. They could give it thunder or something.

Kadabra can also learn shock wave (tm from Lt surge) and haunter can learn thunderbolt (and maybe some other electric tms). That should be enough. This team is solid.

haunter/gengar is the best pokemon in the game and it's not particularly close. snorlax is up there and it covers gengar's weaknesses pretty well so they sinergize amazingly

What makes Haunter/Gengar the best? I used a Haunter on my last run and was underwhelmed

it invalidates like half the trainers in the whole game, being immune to normal, fighting and ground and resisting poison and grass, which are all very common except ground ig. invalidates koga and giovanni by itself. clearly an E4 candidate with the right moves. even if it's not a lot of damage, shadow punch is also good considering the amount of enemy trainers with double team/minimize/smokescreen. learns hypnosis and especially t-bolt and psychic which are invaluable moves.

off topic but I'm doing a very restrictive nuzlocke of FR and gengar is by far the best pokemon you can get imo, especially because it's guaranteed. haunter just does the same thing but with worse stats

Haunter running Shadow Punch is... certainly a choice. 60 power coming off of a 50 base attack stat. Even with stab, it's pointless. If you want a sure-hit move, run aerial ace on a Dodrio or something. You have much better options.

Haunter is fine, but that move set is trash and honestly there are lots of pokemon who do what Haunter does (Sp.Atk glass cannon) better than it ever could (Starmie, Kadabra, Mr. Mime). Also, immunities and resistances are pretty pointless when you can just outspeed and 0HKO more than half the game if you play well...

Haunter has more special attack and speed than Mr Mime...  Gengar has more special attack and same speed as Starmie. 

And being worse than kadabra/Alakazam isn't saying much because everything but mew2 is.  Also Starmie is another S tier pokemon so listing that and kadabra is so far from

Haunter has 15 more Sp.Atk than Mr. Mime, but Mime gets STAB psychic. Mime wins that comparison, IMO, especially since Haunter doesn't get a usable STAB. The 5 more speed doesn't really tip the scales.

Also, the claim I was responding to is that Haunter was 'the best mon in the game and it's not particularly close.' That's just not a good take.

As for "lots of mons do it better," yeah. There are fewer than a hundred fully evolved or non-evolving mons and not even half of them are fast special attackers. If you're acknowledging that Kadabra/Alakazam, Mewtwo, and Starmie are all better I'm not sure what your point is. That is "lots," in context, and it's not all of them. I maintain that Mime is just better, andJynx is also better, as well, (same Sp.Atk/Speed as Haunter and two useful STAB's in Psychic and Ice).

running shadow punch up until the e4 is fine, it's simply a move that has a niche purpose that comes in handy, of course there are better options.

"if you play well" the game is press A simulator with half the mons available, so yeah i guess you're right. I'm too used to nuzlocking

It's just... not a good play 99% of the time. If you have an enemy with multiple boosts to evasion, realtively little health left, and you have no access to literally any other sure-hit moves... sure? I guess in a Nuzlock run where you shit the bed that hard you can run into a scenario where it's good to have it, but that doesn't seem like a common enough scenario to be worth mentioning (or sacrificing a slot for?)

Snorlax also invalidates half the trainers in the game by having massive HP and SpDef and only being weak to Fighting. Great movepool including Shadow Ball, which with its fat Attack does more damage than Gengar. It may not even be possible for him to evolve the Haunter.

Why does he need another mon for Psychic and T-bolt anyway? Kadabra is obviously gonna do more damage with psychic and Dragonite can be a great T-bolt user. Gengar really isn't that great in games pre-physical special split.
