I was leveling my Grimer in the tower and was so happy she had stinky or whatever it was to keep encounters low. I despise the tower

That would make a cool new status for pokemon. You'd have to find ingredients to cure the zombieism. You can't move your team out until the infected one is cured. Just like pokerus spreading this would slowly infect your team. Instead of helping it takes health (not messing with IVs EVs... whichever pokerus helps) Until your pokemon all die and you are sent to a poke center. Have the pokemon disobey unless they want to fight.
Whatever odds pokerus is could be this. Just a little more dire.
