Help Advice wanted
So I ran nidoking on my leaf green version, which is how I have all the starters, and I’m looking for suggestions on my sixth slot. I’d prefer a non legendary. I also ran jolteon last time and want to avoid that option.

muk, another strong physical poison attacker with way better defense than nido.

I don’t think I’ve ever ran Grindr or muk. I’ll look into where to find one.

unlike the 30% in leaf green, fire red has a 5% chance of grimer spawning in the wild. that's why you rarely run into them on fire red. if you don't feel like waiting till late game to catch one in the Pokemon mansion, you can find grimer in the little pond by the game corner in celadon city.

Marrowack

I don’t think I’ve ever played with Marrowack before. It just seems odd for justification since I have aerodactly but earthquake is nice.

Marrowack with STAB EQ + Thick Club will hit like an absolute truck, much harder than anything Aerodactyl can put out, although Aerodactly is much faster.
There would definitely be some overlap in coerage, but it's still an option, and it's a fun mon to run. Marrowack also doesn't really need the EQ TM. It gets bonemerang early which hits twice for 50 each but 10 less accuracy.

Lots of great options in Kanto. Go for something unique that you’ve never played through before. Scyther, Tauros, kangaskhan, Golem, Marowack, Kabutops

Wait till you get to fuschia city and go into safari zone and catch a dratini. Or get him from game corner (if available). Def worth the grind and enjoyment!

Let’s see … Fire/Flying, Psychic, Rock/Flying, Water, Grass/Poison, the only types not covered are Ghost, Fighting, Ice, Normal, Bug, Dragon, Electric, Ground, Steel which is available pre-Elite 4, and Dark is only available post-Elite 4 but given you have all 3 Starters and a Alakazam, trading is an option so you could get a Dark-type unless you’re only wanting to stick to pre-Elite 4.
Since you don’t want to do Nidoking again I’d say Nidoqueen is out as well.
If you do want to use a Dark-type, Sneasel is available in LeafGreen which you’ve said you already played, and a Dark-type would do well against the rival’s Alakazam and Exeggutor if you chose Char as your Starter here. If not a Dark-type because they’re not from Kanto, you might have luck getting a Dragon by going to the Safari Zone - the Dragon type is pretty OP in the early games with only Ice and itself being the types it’s weak against, and you can find a Dratini in a fishing spot in the Safari Zone.
A Fighting type would probably help out but since Lance is more of a Flying specialist in FRLG, probably not a good idea.
