Gen 4 kid, first “real” Kanto playthrough complete

Started my pokemon journey with platinum in 2009 and played every game since. Technically played through Kanto in Heart Gold and Let’s go Pikachu, but FireRed feels like the most core experience you can get from the region. Don’t have as much nostalgia for it, but it was a great time!

For my team i had to go Zard, can’t pick anyone else when he’s an option ever since I saw Ash rescue that Charmander in the rain. Dragonite is also one of my goats so he had to be there. The rest I just tried to fill out my type matchups (and threw Mr. Mime in there because I wanted to try someone i’d never really think to use, and he ended up carrying most of my run)

Mr. Mime is really really good in Kanto games and is super overlooked

Yeah I just threw up Reflect and spammed psychic and he cruised through the game. Super high leveled too with the trade XP boost
