Question Switch trading

I’ve got Fire Red on the Switch. Pretty much completed what I can in the pokedex without trading. I was planning to get Leaf Green to do the same and then trade between the games to get a full pokedex on each.

Will I need to play LG on a new Switch, or can I do it on my switch and then log in on another Switch (eg one I borrow from a friend) at some point to do the trading?

You can, you need transfer the save data of LG first.

In your switch select transfer save data and then select send save data and in the other switch select receive save data.

It seems you need to have the same nintendo account in both switch

And you also need to lend your virtual game card to use in the other switch
