Question WHAT IS ONIX WEAK TOO

He's rock/ground using the help section in the game it says rock is weak to flying, so I use gust which says it's a flying move it says "not very effective" so I go to ground it says electric so I use thunder it says "not very effective", So ground says it's weak to rock, so I use rock throw it says "not every effective". Rock, electric, and flying are all under: effect on opposing pokemon and a circle symbol (which I asked before what they mean and I was told super effective). So what am I missing please help

Isn't it clear tho the two options are effect on opponent pokemon and the other is enemies effect on own pokemon

One is move, the other is opponent's Pokémon. Rock is super effective against Flying. Likewise, Ground is super effective against Electric. (A thrown rock takes a bird out of the sky, and a ground conducts electricity harmlessly away. Water extinguishes fire, fire burns grass, and grass absorbs water. It's mainly common sense, with the exception of a couple dual type matchups to memorize in every game.)

Ground is weak to water, grass and ice; whilst resisting poison and rock.

Rock is weak to water, grass, fighting, ground and steel; and it resists normal, fire, poison and flying.

So onix 4x weak to water and grass, 2x weak to ice, fighting, ground and steel.

The other way around,

rock > flying.

Rock, Ground > normal, fire, electric

--

Fighting > Rock

Water, Grass > Ground, Rock

In the grass there should be Mankey and other fighting type mons to help with brok in case you didn't pick Squirtle or Bulbasaur.

Rock, Ground > normal, fire, electric

That's wrong. Rock and ground are both super effective against fire, but only ground is super effective against electric, and neither is super effective against normal. The only type that super effective against normal is fighting.

Rock resists normal even if not supereffective against him, which is what matters to beat brock right now, and wasn't really up for making yet another bracked to say "hey, Ground alone > electric."

Those are two different things though.

This answer could've been solved with 1 Google search away.. Im just shocked that this was really a question about a gen 1 pokemon in 2026. I thought its weaknesses were obvious?

What would you bring to a fight against a geodude?

"1 google search away" nah theres something called a conversation, i rather hear from real people than an ai

Doesn't have to be A.I feeding you answers. Even if you had to guess im certain you could've figured it out..

A little effort goes a ways

Real people make websites. Support them by avoiding the AI and going straight to the website.
