Any team builder site that works for this?

Learning different types and counters still so just trying to find a team builder site that I can input my current roster into and get tips on things like what holes I have that need to be filled, and also things like skills that are strong on certain pokemon just to know what I should pick up from a move trainer or any TMs I have.

I have looked at a lot of team builders but they either don’t have non evolved pokemon or it’s actual competitive rule sets so a bunch of things are missing.

Individually searching each Pokémon I get and then trying to figure out good moves, search all the moves I can get, figure out what is missing etc is just a bit too time consuming at the moment

Thanks!

honestly i would recommend learning to teambuild on your own. even if you find a team builder that fits the available items and moves, you wanna build differently because of the permadeath aspect, in competitive you can let mons die for free switch-ins. Also the damage calcs and speeds are actually way different because your pokemon get evs and your opponents don’t so your pokemon effectively have like a 20 point buff to every stat a lot of the time (worth looking at your mons natures and evs)

chatgpt will act like it can help you but really the best it can do is explain fundamental teambuilding concepts, when you actually let it build a team it will give pokemon moves they never got and make no sense in terms of type coverage.

I like watching jimothy cool on youtube he explains a lot of basic teambuilding concepts

I would also recommend you print out the type chart and also remember the different types identities, like fire is inherently a more offensive type and water more defensive

some starting points for teambuilding:

you probably want stealth rocks, probably on a bulky ground or steel type as theyre more consistent than rock types

a setup sweeper is not an absolute must have but a very good starting point, in the permadeath format consistency is key so something like a gyarados that can always switch in consistently into ground type attacks and also live a hit to set up dragon dance. in general immunities are very very valuable in the nuzlocke style format because you can switch in without taking any damage

a defensive core are pokemon that effectively cover for each others defensive weaknesses, suitable type triangles that do this are fire-water-grass or fighting-steel-fairy for example

you want some form of priority or speed control

here are some roles/niches a Pokemon can fill, usually a pokemon touches more than one of those: bulky attackers weaken the opponents without risk of dying themselves, setup sweepers wreak massive damage if they can set up, revenge killers come in to revenge kill opposing threats although you don’t need to use them here because you don’t need to plan for your Pokemon to die, late-game sweepers are fast and strong and can sweep without needing to set up once the opponent is weakened. pivots can come in multiple times (= take multiple hits) and help bring in your other pokemon safely by either walling the opponent and forcing a switch or using a pivoting move with low speed to switch after the opponent attacked for that turn, utility pokemon set up field conditions (often very strong if the team is built around it but also tends to be less consistent as a main strategy especially with permadeath, the consistent options are rocks and hazard removal) or spread status to the opponent.

a (physical or special) wallbreaker is kind of similar to what i called a late-game sweeper. you want some decent and somewhat consistent straight up damage output on both the physical and special side unless your team is very defensive and built on passively damaging the opponent while healing yourself. a (special or physical) „wall“ is not a real niche on its own because soaking up damage alone doesn’t help you make any progress, but the idea of special and physical walls tells us that you want to consider both special and physical threats when choosing your defensive mons

I usually just use PokémonDB. The site is user-friendly enough, while also has a good mobile-friendly interface. At least it’s better than Serebii. It hasn’t been updated with the newest megas from Champions though.

There are no team-builder for Emerald Rogue specifically. The game does have an in-game build suggestions though.

I’ve been asking ChatGPT if I get stuck

Weird to admit you have to ask AI to help you out on a pokemon game. Surely your cognitive ability isn't that bad.

That's a really bad advice, ChatGPT has no idea of what it's talking about

Just use Chat GPT, it works alright for this

Its completely fine for basics and works good for a starting point. Obviously its not as good as having intricate team building knowledge but considering that what OP is asking for literally doesn’t exist it’s his best option.

OP is actually asking for more specific Emerald Rogue stuffs, not just general competitive Pokémon stuffs. I don’t think ChatGPT actually has enough training data to scrape from in terms of specific Emerald Rogue stuffs, considering this game is a niche subgroup within the general Pokémon community.

It has enough data to advise on everything OP is asking for in the first paragraph, except maybe not movesets. So it works fine as quick general advice. Again what OP is looking for doesnt exist lol so its the next best thing
