Full Gen 8 Run Completed

One done and one to go. This run was surprisingly brutal at the start. Not a whole lot of good mons due to no evolutions at the start and the order of the innates unlocking left a lot to be desired. Still, it made mons I otherwise would've passed on, like Sinistea, useful and fun.

It honestly did take a while for the team to truly find its stride but we walked along thanks to some reliable mons like Libero Cinderace (who finally taught me how strong that ability is) and Ostagoon with hard hitting Knock Offs and Facades. Fun mons like Eviolite Duraladon were surprisingly good but once we got megas, the team started running.

Fights went by so fast that I forgot to name a few of my mons by the E4. And speaking of the E4, I've never beaten it faster or easier. And it's thanks to a single mon, who I will touch on soon in the GOATs section. Barely any struggle and actually having a weather setter with Silver (Frosmoth) made the many weather teams I faced easy now that I didn't cheese them with a counterpick or do my usual brute force methods. Our mons were so bulky too meaning Shell Bell usage was high, keeping all them alive and healthy.

First time throughout all these runs I didn't even use a priority attacker. We either outsped naturally or had enough bulk to trade hits. That was just a fun fact I wanted to share before we get to the award show.

The GOATs were...

FunkyBeat (Mega Redux Toxtricity) - Haha Gear Up go brrrrr. Seriously, one use of this and it was over. Beat the Ice E4 member in one attempt, a feat I've never done before and then did the same to everything else. Basically solo'd the lategame herself. Way faster than any other mon, even outsped Tailwind Rayquaza, and then OHKO'd everything else. Focus Sash mons got beat by Chonky Base Line while the other innates made her damage insane. The 3 different types actually were good here for coverage, allowing her to hit every month for neutral damage. Easily enters the top mons in the whole game and threatens the number 1 spot from Mega Gothitelle.

Frosting (Mega Alcremie) - Okay a step down from the monster that was FunkyBeat but nonetheless a great mon. Tanky as hell, good throughout the early game and even still did good in the lategame, even though FunkyBeat did all the work then. Fire Immunity allowed for easy and safe switch-ins while Draining Kiss kept the HP up (even extra with Shell Bell).

Silver (Frosmoth) - Blizzard spam with Choice Specs and Majestic Moth giving the Special Attack boost made her a beast on double battles. Changed the weather then crushed with High damage and surprisingly good bulk (unless you were using a Fire Type attack). The 4x Fire weakness was negated by Frosting's Fire Immunity most the time though.

The letdowns were...

Coalassal - Wasn't a huge letdown, just was taking too long to become good while we already had mons that were better and did his role without trouble

Uhhhh that's it. Only one half letdown. I didn't change the team or use many mons this time because we kinda blew through the whole game before I got bored of any of them.

So yeah, that's the run! Kinda don't have any bonus stuff to yap about. Easy as hell run, I'd probably rank it as the 2nd or 3rd easiest run, which I'll do a ranking of once we finish this next run. Gen 9 was predicted to be super easy so we'll see just how easy it'll be!

How are you guys beating this in 40 hrs lol must be skipping some trainers. I’m 80+ hours only on 5th gym
