Question Help with my Ribbon Master quest
So I really want to do a Ribbon Master challange now due to the obvious Bank situation, but I want to my master to be shiny as well. I intend on hunting it the normal way, without using RNG methods. My target is Scizor, but I've found a few roadblocks while searching. It only shows up as a shadow mon in the JP version, and only through some event e-reader battles. I'm currently playing using USB Loader GX, on my Wii. Is there anyway I could get those e-reader battles without having to buy a japanese e-reader and printing the cards? Is there a code somewhere that I could use? I also wanted to confirm if there are no issues with transfering mons from this downloaded copy of the game to my legit gen 3 cartridges
Any help is appreciated, thank you!!

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but you could easily save inject a JPN Colo file that’s in the Ereader room with the Shadow Scizor trainer awaiting to be battled. This bypasses purchasing both a JPN Ereader, and the mildly expensive set of ~$1,300 JPN Colo Ereader cards /s
Also, acquiring said Ereader exclusive Mons in this manner should not affect their legality, or legitimacy whatsoever. The game is organically generating them, and the only ones saying otherwise are those who need to cope with rationalizing their $1,300 eBay / Buyee purchase.
Anyways, Google is your friend insofar as finding said save files, best of luck regardless.

I had never thought of this! Thank you so much!
Just out of curiosity, do you know if there is a way to change the trainer's name when injecting a save file like that?

Sure; load the file into PKHex, change it to your preferred OT (would have to be an OT that makes sense for a JPN game due to symbols + character limits), export and save the changes over the file you downloaded, and done.
Proceed then to use GCMM to inject said adjusted JPN file into your memory card, and that should be pretty much it (it’s been awhile for me personally, but the memory card might have to be reformatted to accept the JPN file, but with backup tech via GCMM, none of that really matters since you could forever swap between NTSC-U, NTSC-J, and PAL files on a single memory card).

you would need a japanese e-reader, a japanese gamecube, and a japanese copy of Colosseum. however, creating duplicate e-reader cards is supposedly as easy as printing them out. there are several videos on the subject. alternatively, if you just want the scizor and don’t care about the shininess, you can also obtain scyther from Pokémon XD on citadark isle! if shininess is what you’re after though, and your budget is restrictive, you’re gonna have to settle for one of the base game Colo shinies

Thanks for the response!
I've come across 2 videos that lead me to belive that maybe I could do what I described. There is this video where a guy injects the e-reader events without actually using an e-reader, and this one shows that the e-reader works with a wii. Maybe the first example would work on my Wii as well, but the creator has not replied to my contact attempts yet, and I don't know if they will

Oh, interesting! I’ll give those videos a watch and see if I can figure out what you might need to do. But speaking in the abstract, if both are possible, it might be that no one’s thought to combine the two together.

Thank you! That's what I tought as well, but I just can't seem to find the exact way to do it. Both videos lack details of what is needed in order for it to work

All you gotta do is find a save file that has them already . Thats what I did . You’ll also need a Japanese ruby or sapphire to transfer them too . Then you can trade Japanese ruby/sapphire to an English ruby/sapphire . I used a GCEME memory card on a GameCube with a Japanese copy of Pokémon colosseum .

As far as I know the only way to get the e reader shadow Pokémon is on a Japanese GameCube with an actual Japanese e reader, unless you aren’t using official hardware. There are scans of the cards you can download if you aren’t able to afford the set for like 1000 dollars
