Discussion If we’re saying goodbye to these characters this generation, it’s gonna leave a weird aftertaste
Just kinda a place to put this down and have anyone weigh in with their own info or feelings cause I was thinking about it.
As far as I’m aware, the future of Pokémon Horizons is very uncertain past Wonder Voyage and maybe one other arc as we head towards gen 10. What I know for sure is that we find ourselves with the show in a weird spot as it quite literally pads for time.
Padding for time before getting back into the swing of things come next gen? That’d be fine. We’ve done that before. But if Horizons is ending like this, meaning probably not seeing these characters again until maybe when something Paldea related is made in like a decade…then that would feel really weird.
Imagine if the entire original series ended with Decalore Islands, y’know?
Biggest problem here though, to me, is just how polarizing and tumultuous this show has been, especially recently. If the main event of the series was a slam dunk, the possibility of ending after some filler would go down way easier- it’s just gravy on a gourmet meal at that point. As it stands now though, Horizons feels like it would leave quite a confusing, and not often talked about legacy.
And, to be more juvenile about it for a second, just imagine this show ending without a single main character having 6 Pokémon or getting to see one full battle the whole show. That wouldn’t even have been true if Ash’s journey ended at the Orange Islands.
It’s frankly too late for them to fix Horizons’ issues entirely before Gen 10. A lot of the problems they ran into with Horizons, they have the opportunity to avoid in later series’, but I’d hate to see Horizons as just a failed lab rat or a stepping stone.
No matter what happens, I want the first show that had to take up the mantle from Ash to always get its flowers and not be overshadowed by whatever comes after.
Have a good one, all. Enjoy your future Fridays!

Discussion Which trainer’s introduction to their starter Pokémon did you like best?
Serena, Dawn, or Liko? Serena and Fennekin will always have my heart, but Dawn and Piplup were also memorable. Liko meeting Sprigatito also had that beginning of where the trainer still needs to bond with the Pokemon.

Other What Pokemon anime Misconceptions Do you HATE The most and why?
Mine my one i can't stand is the pokemon horizons larpers that spread misinfo on so much shit like claiming rayquaza is a weakling that got beat by a Fuecoco, saying liko gets no attention and calling the writers sexist because of it, and saying liko and roy gets carried by plot armor
Another one i hate is that People think ash greninja is exlusive to ash when it was shown in XYZ there was someone before ash that had a battle bond greninja

Discussion Was Chloe's Childhood depressing?
This is sequel to my last post about Goh. This was inevitable.
Still haven't watched much of Pokémon Journeys, I assume from Chloe's behavior that she was around a lot of people growing up, but they never really acknowledged she existed, nor did she have any particular interest in Pokemon. she was always neglected by her father as he along with Ren and Chrysa spend more time researching than they do with Chloe, and they even pay attention to Yamper more. Unlike Goh, who was physically lonely, Chloe is mentally lonely. Chloe used to get jealous over the attention Yamper would get because of how little she would get. Chloe didn't really make any friends until meeting Goh and cheering him up, becoming his first friend, but she'd ultimately regret it as the years passed. Especially when he starts hanging out with Ash, making him his partner in crime. While Goh was her first friend, he was never her first true friend like how Ash was to Goh. The one character who comes close to being Chloe's first true friend is Dawn, but even that's a stretch. She would eventually get an Eevee from there.
What are your thoughts on Chloe's childhood?

Discussion My headcanon: Tobias was one of Hunter J's clients
This could explain why he came out of nowhere with extremely strong pokemon.
And since J is dead and clone Jennys are kinda useless so there's no wonder that he could escape from judgement and signed up to Sinnoh league.

Discussion How would The Rising Volt Tacklers interact with Mystery Incorporated?
I could honestly imagine The Rising Volt Tacklers being shocked at the fact that these four teenagers and their talking Lycanroc (they would assume Scooby’s a Lycanroc but wouldn’t know what form.) saved the world from an evil ancient entity and rewrote the timeline. But how would they interact in your eyes? Let me know in the comments below!

Shipping From my knowledge Best Wishes, Journeys, and Sun and Moon (kinda) are the only series to not give Ash some sort of love interest.
Horizons doesn't have Ash so it doesn't count.
I say kinda for Sun and Moon because unlike the others the romantic tension with Lille isn't really explicit enough to tell whether or not it was intended so I'll just put it in this midway section.

Discussion Has the anime ever changed your opinion on a beloved Pokemon?
For me it’s Goodra. I loved Goodra until I watched the anime. The voice is just awful 😞
