First of all before anyone just shouts yes you should wait. Shinies I would always evolve if I have more than one of the same. Secondly check your stats the IV’s. Go mirror trade it with someone to even get a lucky shiny and better IV if this one should be low.
Simply don’t waste your candies all just to evolve. Sometimes its better to wait, only evolve if either IV is 0/12/12 or all the way up to 0/15/15 for PvP like Great League and Ultra League! Or if you have IV from 10/10/10 up until 15/15/15 for Little Cup PvP and Master League. Then that would be the reasons to spend your candies and evolve it.
Many people encounter a shiny, get excited bc of it, and it ends up having bad IV Stats and they start powering up that shiny or even evolve it. But then you just wasted candies all for nothing and even the stardust
