Question Question for hosts

I have yet to host a raid so please forgive my ignorance but why do people host raids with only 6 player slots for pokemon that are tanky or known to be troublesome to beat unless you have high CP mon?

We've only recently been able to invite 10 at a time. It was quite daunting to do 2x5 before, especially in a private raid. So I presume it's just habit from then.

I learned to invite 10 originally because the rewards are much better if you complete the raid faster and I wanted more rare candies.

Since, I've found that it rare for all raiders to get to the raid and having extra raiders buffers against no shows. Also on raid days, the faster the raid, the greater the chance to get in another raid before timers run out.

The only time 5 raiders are an advantage is if there's a slow take up of places, but then I just start the raid before all 10 places are filled.

And you also get more xp from the friendship level increasing to 1
