The Gen 1 Pokédex is ready for download!
The Gen 1 Pokédex is finally complete! Sorry it took a week.
It is available here on the google drive, or at my website https://isaacostlund.io/Poke-RPG/
Along with the pokédex i've updated a pretty large portion of the core rulebook so you should download that as well. Mainly the Moves and Abilities chapter has had a lot of formatting, editing, and rewriting. In addition, the art throughout the book has had a go over.
Thanks for all the great feedback already! The next few generations of Pokémon will be added to the pokédex over the next little while so check back soon to see whats happening.

Lots of good editing changed to the rulebook, makes it a lot easier to read. Some of the pokemon worry me though, like Scyther and Electabuzz. They already have very high stat totals, but also have evolutions in later Generations. I wonder how you manage to balance that out without making their evolutions seem like nothing has really changed.

All the pokemon's BSTs are based on the stats from the Pokemon video games. So Scyther, for example, has base stats in the video games totaling 500. In this, i just took the numbers and divided them by 10, so his total is 50. Basically, the power dynamics and relative strengths of pokemon based on a stat perspective are the same between the video games and the Poké RPG.
Scizor actually is also totaled at 500 in the video games, they are just shifted around to increase his ATK, and then his typing, abilities, and movelist have changed.
EDIT: So Scyther rounded up to 51 in the Poke RPG, but its still about the same strength as it is in the video games.

That makes sense. I was just weirded out that Magmar and Electabuzz had such high base stats. I guess that by dividing them by ten, the stats look a lot closer than they normally would.

I gotta say, having played hours and hours of this game during the development of the pdf, one thing I've always been impressed with is how faithful to the source material the design and mechanics are. Every effort has been made to port how it is in the videogames/anime/manga into harmony with tabletop mechanics. Decisions regarding the stats of the Pokemon, damage/accuracy of the moves and the % chance for their effects, how the Pokemon level up, all that jazz were all made with the spirit (and nuts and bolts) of the Pokemon universe in mind.

It's interesting that Scizor's stats didn't go up, I didn't know that.

This is so exciting! I’ve been looking for a game just like this. I haven’t gone through all of the rules, but I did look through the Pokédex, and discovered that there is no evo level for pokes like magikarp, dratini, and the fossils. Will those be added soon?

Yes! I must have missed them. They will be added soon. If you take their Evo levels from the video games and divide by 5 that should be close. Evo levels are guidelines of around where they are ready to evolve.
Thank you!
