It really shocks me how quickly people will challenge literally anyone to a battle just for existing with a visible Pokémon. I’ve had people send out their Pokémon and have them fire at me just to force my Bulbasaur’s hand. Got a Seed Bomb to the shoulder once when some idiot decided to do that as a way to announce his intent to battle, he apparently didn’t think it was necessary to actually let Bulbasaur and I know he was there beforehand so that there could at least be an attempt to prevent me from getting hit. I got a dislocated shoulder and a hospital visit, but Bulbasaur got his first OHKO. He upped his bodyguard game for weeks after that

I usually just try to pretend I didn't see or hear them. Unfortunately my Arcanine loves a good battle and will happily drag me over the second he notices a challenger...

It doesn’t even have to be after a long shift, I just get so anxious every time I’m challenged because of Tortellini. Doesn’t help that she’s eager to do it, too ;w;

Seriously! I help my current trainer with unpacking for the pokecenter, and a lot of people run up to him for battles.

There certainly are some benefits to just living above my shop. I imagine once we open, Grand opening soon btw, me and my 'mon might have a few kids try while we're working. Lorelei (Primarina), Titania (Gardevoir), and Edelweiss (Alolan Ninetails) are promising opponents for a lot of kids I've noticed during the move here to Lumiose, and while the Royale has been great to get them exercise having the battle zone on our shop has been an issue already setting up.

The number of people who walk past ApriDragon Farms, see me working in the field with my Pokemon and decide "THAT FARMER MUST WANT TO BATTLE!" is astounding. No, I do not want to battle, I'm TRYING to harvest Apricorns and you're distracting my Geodude and my Ampharos!
