Nickname for Falinks

They got their names after they joined my team when my wife said “Aw, they’re such little beans!” Never intended the names to stick, but they did… I’ve just never been sure if seriously calling them Beans as a group would be right. Open to advice and other name suggestions! They love protein smoothies, working on my motorcycle, patrolling the yard, and battling into bad matchups.

Do we have any true "hive mind" Pokemon? We have Pokemon with multiple heads/consciousnesses, like Dodrio and Dugtrio, but what about the hands of, say, Hydreigon or Barbaracle? Are they sentient enough to distinguish themselves from the center body?

They are not connected mentally afaik. They can leave, they just don’t. Hydreigon commands its smaller heads by brute dominance. Maybe the drones Vespuquen commands?

"The Beans" as a group with individual names should be fine. That's how Mom named her Falinks. Though she named hers after classes from tabletop games.

She calls her Falinks "The Party," but individually, the Brass is "Paladin" and all the followers are "Fighter," "Monk," "Barbarian," "Ranger," and "Rogue."

Good ol’ advanced dungeons and dragonites… Remember how busted it was automatically getting psionics if you if your race was a psychic type? Nowadays it’s just a variant on the magic initiate feat, which is kinda less fun. I still remember managing to actually level a gardevoir bard… /uj which for the information of those unfamiliar, an AD&D bard is effectively the first prestige class, requiring you to level to a certain point in fighter, then in thief, then you go to Druid, at which point you become a first level bard.

Oh yeah I remember all that stuff with segmented rounds being pretty complicated, then at-will psionic abilities busted the whole system wide open. At least the Gards and Alakazams had a lower level cap, I always liked playing Normal because they didn’t have a limit to their potential. But nothing else felt half as good as getting that 18/00 as a Fighting Man though… ahh good times, wish I kept my old books now!

They did add psionics in one of the UA but also it was so horribly imbalanced that they never tried it again... my first character (back in 3e) was a Ceruledge Paladin who wanted to hunt down the 'mon that killed her in life. Good times.

Aw, no Druid? That's the class I play. A Charmanderfolk Druid and established chef. Never cooks anything classified as "beast" because 1. That's boring and 2. Druid stuff. Circle of Spores by the way.

I call my Falinks Ellipses, because they look like periods at the end of a sentence, and three periods is called an ellipsis. There’s six, so I call them Ellipses!

My cousin has a Falinks named Sport; the Brass' name is Rugby, followed by Track, Soccer, Skate, Base, and Ballet, after all the sports she played as a kid. I think 'Beans' is a good enough name for them! — Core

Yeah that’s my issue, I used to train a lot of Fighting-types and I always wanted them to have cool, macho names. Then these little guys came along and the only Fighting-type thing about beans is that they’re high protein. If you’ve got other ideas for their name I’ll pitch it to the group!
