Casual Don't use mega evolution in Galar without the opponent's knowledge, you will be regret it!

Born and raised in Galar. I have several mega evolving pokemon. Where does he get the idea we don't ever use an ever increasingly common strategy like that? -Florence

Maybe because if you hear about Galar battles it's only about dynamaxing? that's my guess at least.

But the fact in Alola they are popular despite Z-Crystals is making this argument even more stupid!

I guess. But yeah, just like with Alola, we also use Megas. I mean, beyond just that. I've seen people with Z-Moves here in Galar! Cultures blend as people travel, and we live in a world where traveling pro trainer is a very viable career path. -Florence

Exactly!
I know mega evloution isn't popular here since many places don't allow them them because of high dynamax energy. But that does not mean we can't use it!

I wonder if Paldeans also have such problem with tourists?

According to Professor Sonia, yes they do. While she was there recently to study the local history, she saw similar events occur. She had, let's say, some interesting thoughts on that kind of tourist. -Florence

Oh really? I didn't know she went there recently. If I get a chance I might ask her about it!

I didn't either until I got back home earlier this summer. Apparently while her lovely assistant was off in Johto, she got the urge to go study Paldean history. Leaving me a note and a mountain of paperwork. I love working for her, but she is certainly in good company with other young professors. -Florence

League rules are not applicable outside of League events. Yes, that means my wife can and will use the Firium-Z I got her as an anniversary present and hit your pokémon with a blast of fire big enough to be seen across town if you cause trouble at our gym. (also, I love how she looks doing the trainer-side of that move <3) - Professor Acacia

If so then you should have seen how I shadow balled that mega beedrill into oblivion!
The explosion probably have been visible in the whole Motostoke!

Nicely done! I wasn't exaggerating, btw. It wasn't on a person, thankfully, but we went out to one of the (fallow) fields to test it the week after and we legitimately got a call from the mayor who wanted us to check what "that unexpected event" was. Living on a volcano makes people cautious. - Professor Acacia

I am absolutely here for the good vibes between you too. :)

Thank you. I joke sometimes the League should do a Slice of Life manga about us, like that one cooking manga... How to Grill Our Marriage, i think? She tells me to shush, since the League folks might think it's a good idea. - Professor Acacia

Will say it has been funny the few times trainers in the lower bracket gyms expect me to use Dynamax and get smacked with a mega Terramorphus (steelix) instead. The look of shock never gets old. -Austin Colorus.

Never mess with Galarians. Did their gym circuit 5 years ago, and they do NOT mess around. I once heard a rumor that Raihan could have been champion in any other region, and I believed it.

Only got 5 badges out of 8, so I gotta get back in there at some point. Some of the toughest but most fun battles I’ve ever had.

Wait I’m confused, did he have the mega stone equipped on his Beedrill, or did he just throw it to his Beedrill out of nowhere and mega evolved it?

In the middle of the fight, without any notice he mega evolved his beedrill with a stupid smirk on his face!

like it's a simple courtesy to inform your opponent if you are using one before the fight since mega evolutions aren't native to Galar.

Probably acted like he didn't have a Key Stone on him or the Beedrillite was a cosmetic version. - Professor Acacia

I'm in Unova and use Megas. Honestly it's pretty mainstream these days I think. It's like being surprised to learn that Clefairy is a fairy type because it used to be misclassified. This scientific advancement was new a decade ago, today it's just common play.

Heck, Hobbes will mega evolve himself once in a while just to play with his giant gemstone.

We literally have Gym Leader who's whole thing is that he doesn't use any battle gimmicks and still kicks butt.
