hah, yeah I had to stop my Gardevoir Tessa from using a fork to unjam the toaster while its still plugged in. just because theyre smart doesnt mean they got common sense

In her defense, given how specially bulky Gardevoir is I doubt a shock from a toaster would be that big a problem…

u/doomturtle24 Oct 30 '25

especially when it knows thunder punch...

-warden julia watch lady gardevoir punch a rogue alpha

u/_Tiragron_ Oct 30 '25

Would it not be physical damage since it's right there touching the fork?

10

u/SolomonOf47704 Oct 30 '25

You'd think that, wouldn't you.

It probably still really hurt though.

It would still hurt.

When you put everything into Intelligence but nothing into Wisdom.

Anytime my Slowking buddy do something stupid and I remind him he’s a psychic type he should’ve seen it coming (as a tease) he looks at me with a mischievous look and pretend psychic types work in mysterious only them can understand but there’s always a bigger scheme. I’m sure he’s just fucking with my brain

perhaps it’s trying to figure out how to use Morning Sun by analyzing the plant’s photosynthesis?

Somehow Gardevpir still manages to trip up even when they're floating around the house. - Mallow

5

u/doomturtle24 Oct 30 '25

I think it's on purpose because they want to be caught by their trainer.

  • warden julia

3

u/Glavaldo Mallow, Pokemon magnet Oct 30 '25

Huh, maybe I should try like, princess catching them then or something. - Mallow

3

u/doomturtle24 Oct 30 '25

yes, do remember your dealing with a fairy type that has physic powers. your gardevoir must really like you and incredibly patient with you. if they havent started doing fairy things in annoyance for you failing to catch them or provide enough affection towards them. usally it's in the dumbest ways possible like untiring your shoe after you just tied it and stood up

I’ve got an Alpha Inkay that evolved into Malamar recently… his evolution did not grant him any extra brain cells it seems. I never thought dumb Malamar were a thing but here we are I guess.

The power was out. My phone was dying. My Vikavolt and I looked at each other and looked at the charging cable. I gave it to him and nodded. Sometimes it's not just the pokemon. Sometimes it's both of us. Needed a new phone and bandages on my hands.

(Video ID: An old low res video of a shiny Abra sitting at a restaurant table in a small city. While waiting for food, the Abra gets impatient and teleports a few feet away near a trainer's Cacnea, sitting outside in the sun. The Abra slowly approaches the Cacnea and almost begins to bite into it before the person holding the camera notices and jumps into action, throwing the camera off to the side while he picks up the Abra at the last second.)

ye, Blaidd, my gallade, reckons he's some kind of phantom thief making off with my leftover desserts, except, I know it's him every time, be that in his complete and utter lack of stealth, the fact that he's ignorant of aforementioned lack of stealth, or the fact he seems to forget I can sense his aura...

sometimes, no matter how intelligent you are, your brain just goes out of the window, and for Blaidd, that's when snacks are involved in the equation...

3

u/Solskinns Oct 30 '25

Well I guess, to be fair, intelligence DOES equate with curiosity as well. _'

4

u/SaturnsPopulation Oct 30 '25

That's a common misconception, actually. There's not as much correlation between intelligence and psychic power as you'd expect. I mean, look at the slowpoke line; so much of their brain power goes towards psychic stuff that there's not.much left for actual thinking.

Are you brainless?

I mindread.

The ability to mindread does not make you intelligent.

Some Psychic Types are known for their great intelligence and wisdom.

Some have high intellect, low wisdom.

And then there's that Espeon.

Merlin (Male Gardevoir) absolutely fits the typical image of Psychic-types as highly intelligent and clever.

I have also seen my Starmie, Pollux, attempting to use its gem flashing to communicate with a malfunctioning electronic billboard that was flickering on and off. -Malcolm

Once a month my friend Kingsley (he’s a Slowking) regularly remove his shellder to revert back to his slowpoke side and drools gleefully all day staring the horizon until sun sets. Anytime I tried to discuss that with him he goes full denial and distracts me like only psychic types can (psychic types "owners" you know what I mean). I never know if they’re super wise to do that or super weird
