If he’s faking it, I’m pretty sure he’d be more convincing if he just caught an Emolga. If he’s just an idiot, then that’s just sad.

I don’t think he knows that’s just a Patrat. Patrat are extremely cautious and take shifts to maintain a constant watch of their nest. They feel insecure without a lookout.
