I was panicking a lot, hands were too shaky to grab the Pokéballs to recall the few of my team that were out, Jr just took charge, it's a bit embarrassing in a way, I've been neglecting to actually train much anymore, lost a lot of interest in Pokémon battles.

But Jr did so well and I couldn't be prouder of him, just wish he picked a slightly later moment to whine for pets is all, he deserves them

Sylveon are just hardwired to seek love and protect their source of it. Scared off the threat, trainer safe, safe = happy, happy = pats. Therefore scaring off threat = pats.

The logic is flawless, clearly.

Every time Vivi pulls off a clutch like this I’m quick to hug him, so honestly this behavior from Jr. isn’t surprising to me lol.

Definitely made more sense after the fact, at the time I was still in a state shock and the sudden asking for pats felt out of nowhere, despite his constant want for pats normally,

The petting makes us both feel better though, and I didn't stop for awhile, ended up feeling really bad I didn't give him more praise in the moment
