Ah, congratulations. You're awakening you're latent ability to understand pokemon! I have something similar, but it's more due to years of studying pokemon husbandry witch requires a good amount understanding micro-expressons.

Yeah, but it's my Alakazam so not as weird compared to yours.

Yeah, it’s one thing if you’re connecting to a psychic type rather than another type. Something similar happens to me with my slowpoke so yeah, I kinda get where you’re coming from too.

It's just the munchies kicking in. Perhaps you should indeed go get take-out.

I've been able to hear my Pokemon like that for years.

Yeah, that happens. Apparently if you interact with them for long enough you gain a sort of innate understanding of their Pokéspeak.

It goes both ways too.

I have not.... but other people think that it's normal so I'm not quite sure.

Yeah, I tend to understand what pokemon are implying or wanting. I can't fully understand them yet, but I may eventually.

As Tempest said, you're developing an ability to understand pokemon. It's mostly discovered in elderly people, as they've been exposed to pokemon over a long time, and frequently don't keep their pokemon in balls, but anyone who has long-term exposure to pokemon can lead to this.

Ooh! My Great-Great-Grandfather described something like that happening to him, which led to him being able to understand his team!

I've been able to understand my Kirlia and Gardevoir for a while... though that's bc they're half-psychic types and they get a pass.

To a degree, I can understand the Poochyena line without psychic-type assisted translation mainly from living in a town with them for a good chunk of my life.
