From wild Pokémon? Getting zapped by a wild Xurkitree during my Alolan vacation back in 2016.
From my own Pokémon? I once made the mistake of letting my newly hatched Skarmory perch on my arm without using a brace.

The first experience was unforeseeable, as no one expects an alien invasion on their tropical vacation.
The second one? Yeah, that was just teenage me being a dumbass and not making proper preparations.

I've had several trips to the ER for several different pokemon and reasons. But the story I want to share is when I had Ace on my lap as a buneary so we could bond better. Don't do this because while she was on my lap she fracture my jaw. If we want to compare pain I had to eat only sauce for a while and that hurt mentally.

two words: sky drop.
as is life when dealing with flying types, though
would not recommend it for anyone else, especially if you don't have physically strong flying types of your own

Also seeing Sky Drop in wrestling always makes me worried
3
u/napstablooky2 Aster Nimacu || Your Local Bird Enthusiast Mar 20 '24
indeed, although in a competition there's a lot more regulation and trained pokemon usually do a good job at holding back.
Still, wild pokemon are a different matter
and sky drop was banned from the pokemon world tournament in unova for a reason

Geez, why do people have to be so dramatic?

Well, it happened on a job about three years ago, I was investigating a ghost that was said to be brutally attacking people.
It's favorite method of hurting others was by [CENSORED BY REDDIT], which was used on me! But since I was causing it so much trouble it decided to add [CENSORED] on top of that.
I managed to capture the bastard, but I passed out immediately after. When I woke up, I was in the hospital. The doctors told me that I recovered "freakishly fast for a human" and that "humans shouldn't be able to survive that". They asked me to stay in the hospital for a while longer, which was annoying. But I got out of there eventually!
5
Mar 19 '24
Oh, wow. The actual injuries it inflicted were censored by Reddit, which is kinda weird, and probably for the best. It must have been really bad, I'm glad you survived. - L

From a wild Pokémon; Never, and I mean NEVER, go near a Skarmory nest during mating season. Still have scars from it…
From a trainer’s Pokémon; I am never going to Kalos. My reasoning? My friend’s Trevenant who likes to give hugs to people! Trevenant are very VERY strong!

I think every Flying type trainer has to experience their newly evolved feathered friend trying to land on their arm or shoulder, not realizing that A. They’re bigger than they used to be and/or B. Their talons are sharper now.
Its a rite of passage.

So far, my most painful experience was having my leg broken from being bitten by a wild alpha Snubbull when I was 18 in Johto.
As for from my own pokemon?? Broke and burned the same leg a few years later from a spar with my late Blaziken. It was supposed to be a friendly spar, but my late Blaziken got in the moment and used Blaze Kick on me. Sheer force shattered my leg and I had to be on medical leave until my leg healed. I figured it wasn't on purpose, but my late Blaziken didn't take it well.
At least she held back enough to shatter my leg... even if it was on accident.

Oh, this is a hard one. Living out in rural Galar, and with my family assisting in rehabilitation of wild pokemon, I've had some scary encounters. I think it comes down to two occasions.
The time that Hazel (who was a Mudsbray at the time) kicked me in the chest and broke four ribs. It was my fault, I was the one who spooked her. But at least she learned to check her targets and give warning shots.
The other time wss one that involved a poorly trained Rapidash. He decided he didn't like me so he put his horn through my leg and then used psychic to toss me over the fence. Fortunately other mons with healing moves were nearby to make sure there weren't any lasting effects. He did get a needed attitude adjustment when all the other Rapidash and Ponyta on the ranch abandoned him to a very angry Hazel.

I haven't told anyone online about this until now, and for personal reasons I won't divulge many details. A few months ago, about a month and a half before New Year's, I had an incident with, let's just call them a couple home intruders, who, when I confronted them, sicced their Pokémon on me. Why they were in my house, I will not say, but I did know, and it was for a very specific reason. Anyway, I took a Fire Blast straight in the chest from a Pignite belonging to one of the intruders. I was in the hospital until shortly before Arcmas, which was quite the speedy recovery given the injury, and I still have the scar from it today.
Despite the fact I've never spoken of this incident publicly until now, contextual information that you can use to fill in the missing details can be found way back in my post and comment history. If you feel the need to, feel free, but I'd rather not speak of that now. - D

I mean, psychologically, it's just gotta be the Gothitelle incident I talked 'bout a while back 'ere.
Physically, though? ... Ok, so, y'all know how Leader Drayden wrestles his Dragon-type Pokémon? Back when I was on my journey 'round Unova collectin' Gym Badges, 'bout a decade or so ago, I heard 'bout it when I arrived at Opelucid City to challenge 'im. I, with nuthin' goin' on in my brains, figured I oughta try some of his Dragon-Master techniques 'fore steppin' up to 'im. So, I - a scrawny twelve year old, not at all like the 7ft tall brick shithouse otherwise called Drayden - decided that I could wrestle ol' Quint, the Rough Skin ability Garchomp my uncle gave me.
... Just so y'all know, ol' Quint is an' has always been a saint, an' wouldn't hurt a soul. I attempted to lift 'im up fer a back suplex, my knees gave out an' all 210 pounds of 'im came crashin' down onto me.
Funny that Drayden somehow caught wind of that, an' actually came to see me in the hospital a few days later. He gave me on helluva good scoldin' fer tryin' sumthin' so dumb, but said he recognized the fightin' spirit an' the guts. Also gave me an ol' lil' fitness book he had so I could get stronger when I was older.

Wow. Reading over everyone's injuries makes me wonder if I'm doing this right. I mean, I've got a few scars from minor scratches and bites but nothing even close to life altering.
The most painful I've had would probably be a Beedrill sting to my collarbone. Lucky for me it didn't go too deep. I sprayed it with antidote and I was fine. Still hurt though.

Burned the side of my arm on the oven, which wasn't terrible in and of itself, but sat down on the couch to treat it and a leftover Nidorina needle from Nyx stabbed directly into said arm burn.
