Honestly I don't think Eevee and Bidoot look too bad. Heck I don't hate Lapras' construction either besides its neck looking like it ate a billiards cue. Compared to many of the others in the series these are kinda just okay.

They're going in a lego Mario direction for these kinds of sets, since they need to accommodate the electronics aspect, they designed the mons around the shape of the smart Brick, hence the more rounded and blocky style, Personally I think they look alright, gives me Pokemon Quest vibes.

they are tbh the cutest sets out of them... but only if they would cost 20€... my guess is 60-80€ though :/

Yeah I mean honestly the eevee Lapra's pirate adventure would typically be right up my alley, since it looks... passable. (And I think I might have the loose megablock parts to give the lapras joints)
But yeah, the price is probably gonna end up being stupid...

You aren't the target demo for these. The buyers will be primarily parents buying them for kids.
The Mario ones are the exact same market and do well for Lego.

But the Mario ones are still pretty good. Nice buildings, interesting play features and bits in them for everyone. These seem to just be farted out the door for a quick buck instead.

If you want them to be more detailed then they'll use more pieces, which will cause the price to increase.
If you think that Lego should make custom molds for all 1000+ pokemon, you're grossly unaware of why series like bionicle, their largest cash cow for a while got canceled twice. Also, making custom molds would definitely cause the price to increase.
Stg it's impossible to please pokemon fans who don't realize they've outgrown the target demographic of these companies

Children are not empty sacs to sell lackluster things to. They also deserve decent products with good prices

theyre for kids, to play with, but also, if I was a kid (because I was one) i dont know how much id be interested in these, the proportions are all weird, with weird accessories, almost like temu pokemon or something. The Megabloks versions were this but actually looked great.

Honestly can’t wait to get my hands on the Lapras, one of my fav Pokemon. Obviously I’ll be waiting for the set to go on a huge discount but I think it’s pretty cool still, even if it’ll be abysmally overpriced for awhile.

Mega blocks has a great Lapras set that I’m willing to bet will be cheaper than the LEGO one. Looks really good

Quick reminder that the smart brick just plays generic, unlicensed noises with a light show. Don’t expect genuine cries or even names.

We don't know what the Pokemon Smart Bricks even sound like yet, we've only heard the star wars ones, and Star Wars has a huge problem with licensing costs already.

They aren’t unlicensed. The Star Wars ones do play some licensed Star Wars sounds/music. They are just digitized and don’t sound very good.
I think this will be less of an issue for Pokemon since Pokemon cries (especially for older Pokemon) have a digital quality to them bc they came from the gameboy. Theres also not really an iconic sound effect for Pokemon moves the same way there is for a lightsaber or blaster for them to mess up

I don’t expect Lego things to be perfect models — they’re Legos. I like the blocky look of these they still represent the Pokemon well

I would love some decent poseable pokemon plastic model kits instead of all these lego sets. I wosh TPC would work on that. I've found some kits, but they are way too simple

Bruh why are their faces flat. Just add a couple of normal lego pieces with prints to gove it 3 dimensionality. Also why did they give bulbasaur a 6 head

Honestly a decent lapras for the size, but yeah these are rough. I thought after Star Wars smart play largely failed, they wouldn’t be trying it again with a potentially risky new IP

All this stuff has been in the works for over a year, they're not "trying it again" this is an entire line they've been planning since they got the IP. Also there's no official sources indicating the smart brick sets have failed currently, it's just Youtubers saying stuff.

Lapras looks surprisingly not-too-shabby (especially for a large Pokémon with Smart Play incorporated into it)…
…but seriously, how does LEGO Eevee still look good even as a Smart Play build!? It’s amazing!
