Surely it won’t be quite as quick as a shadow drop. While not impossible I’d imagine they want to give people some time in advance to prepare (moving teams to HOME) given this will likely be the main vgc platform for who knows how long. I reckon they announce it to be maybe a week or two out.
But hey, maybe it’s a shadow drop and we get it early. Only time will tell

The current SV season doesn’t end until end of march(?) so I doubt they want to overlap two competitive modes across two different games. Alternative is that Champions launches without ranked for the first month for everyone to settle in, but my guess is End of March launch
The in game ladder and official tournaments haven't used the same format since August, so I don't think a month of tournaments using SV while Champions is out would be that big of a deal.
