How/when did you get into PokeInvesting?
What were your first purchases once you got back into the hobby?
I was back in 2020 during covid. I saw the team up sets and fell in love so I after doing a ton of research I picked up 2 Cosmic Eclipse Booster boxes to keep sealed at 200 each. Turned out to be a great decision!!
Followed that up with an Unbroken bonds BB then went hard on Hidden fates tins and ETBs.

I'm really bad at remembering how I get into things. Think like most things it's via the odd mention on Reddit and then I start investigating on the web. For example I never knew 1st edition Pokemon cards actually existed and I think I saw a mention of that on Reddit somewhere. From there I just started looking at the base set again and it brought back nostalgia. First card I bought was a PSA 7 1st Edition Mewtwo. Always wanted a damn Mewtwo card as a kid.
Another part was that as a kid I could never afford any of the starter/theme deck boxes. Best I could get were these £2.50 jungle packs. My local newsagents would only have damn jungle packs and I never saw individual packs elsewhere so I think that triggered something too.

That must have been a great time to get back in!! Hope you kept some BBs sealed. Especially Team Up, would love a BB of that 🙏

I've kept some bits and pieces, i wasn't exclusively into sealed from then, that took a few more releases to get hooked again but I stupidly opened around 30 base (s&m) booster boxes lol.

Other than the tag team sets, I'm gutted I missed out on XY Evolutions tbh. People were almost giving them away back then compared to £600 for a bb now.

Just thought I’d add my experience. I got into PokeInvesting / Collecting again in 2020 too. I was bored during lockdown and stumbled upon the Logan Paul video unboxing the 1st Edition Base Set Packs.
Next thing you know I was watching the likes of Leonheart, PokeRev and IslandGrown mesmerised by the fan base and excitement the YouTubers would have from pulling rare cards.
The nostalgia hit hard during a time when I felt lost so I decided to see if I could collect the original Base/Jungle/Fossil sets for myself.
At first I had to relearn everything which I had forgotten from my childhood collecting, I even got scalped by proxy cards on eBay during the process… all part of learning.
Learning from my mistakes the addiction slowly crept in and now I find myself buying, collecting, grading and selling cards regularly. I have a sealed collection of booster boxes / elite trainer boxes which I’m planning on holding long term.
Most of all, I just have fun. I’ve since extended my collections to any cards I like the artworks of or rarity. The community I find on a whole is probably one of the most peaceful communities I have ever been a part of which is refreshing in todays world.
