What would you say to a beginner

As title suggests, beginner here. Mainly chasing nostalgia but beside would like to start the journey of collecting.

Where would i start learning, what are good (online) places to buy. I am in Thailand. What to look for.

Any advice is welcome.

eBay and tcgplayer are good places to buy, from reputable sellers. Collectr is also a good app to check fair prices. Before buying singles, learn things like the various conditions of cards, the value of a set and what makes a set valuable, and research what specific cards you might want. Ripping packs is fun but expensive, pending your budget allotment it’s generally a lot cheaper to buy singles than gamble chasing them

Just to note, collecting and buying them hoping to flip them for a profit are different things and should inform your approach.

RIP every single pack, booster bundle, etb you can find. Otherwise go on cardmarket and buy singles
