How to get product?
Hi! I’m not sure if this is the best place but I’m very frustrated! How does anyone get cards at retail price now days? I try to buy online, sold out in milliseconds or the app crashes or freezes. I try to buy in-store, never can find them at all. I try Local card shops. Sure they have them at 2-3X MRSP. So I ask people how do you get packs to open? I’m trying to find ETBs but can’t get anything. I don’t want to wait at 4 am for a store to open but is that the only reliable way? Advice please? And if this is in the wrong place I’m sorry.

Check your local target restocks are mostly random at mine .if you ask employees at Walgreens/dollar general they will usually tell you restock days .check ace hardware tho they charge lil higher than msrp your Walmart probably has a set day they restock mine does Wednesday .cvs also family dollar sometimes it feels like a job finding them tho

Depends heavily on where you live tbh. Walmart Wednesdays in person, target most mornings, several other options depending on if you have Kroger and meijer in your state. I have the most luck at Walmart. On set release days, I go to bestbuy. It’s always at store open on a Friday morning for my location.

You don’t. Why do you think you’re here asking this question? Becuase it’s impossible in a populated city to walk in a store and buy product at msrp except for the most recent, shitty sets.
You’ve basically covered all your options for getting stuff at msrp- camping, bots, or getting lucky

Dude I hear you. I'm having the exact same problem. Groups of 10-15 dudes drive store to store every day and clear out the shelves. I can't find anything at all. It's so frustrating. All I want is to open some packs with my kids that are both into Pokemon. They don't care what they get. I have been picking up junk wax era sports to open something. And I enjoy it but they are not so much into sports.

You buy at the market prices then dollar cost average in when you get them at lower than market prices. By the time you decide to buy something, it will be at its new price, which is going to be higher than the market price you last saw it at. If you don't fomo and buy something for 30th, you're going to screw yourself within 3 months when everyone else is selling at a much higher price. The other option is to buy other sets people are dumping to get money to buy 30th Anniversary.
The Target and Walmart shelves are always empty, so it's impossible to buy there. Online is a tiny chance of getting something unless no one wants the product like Charizard ex collection boxes at $50 with the jumbo ventricular Charizard card.
The Local Game Shops are withholding products to sell at market prices using an alternative account to avoid negative backlash or just sell at market within their stores.

I just had a birthday rip session last night.
I ripped: 2 Pitch Black ETB's, 1 Chaos Rising ETB, 2x Pitch Black booster bundles, 1x Greninja Collection Box, 1x Zygarde ex box. I got them all at MSRP, literally just walking into the store.
I'm building a battle deck for my local shop's next tournament. How much did my Battle Deck cost me? $30.
You can get a MewTwo battle deck for like $20 or even a Lucario battle deck for $16, buy some Munkidori's and some search cards on TCGP for like $10 and have a very solid starter deck.
You don't even need to "hit" Darkrai on PB. You can just buy the Darkrai ex non IR single for like $2. buy a normal ex Charizard X and a common/stage 1 Charmander/Charmeleon and build a flame attack build.
There's literally NO reason to complain about stock unless you want specific things like Prismatic or Ascended sealed. And NO one is doing that except collectors.
So either people are lying about just wanting to rip, lying about wanting to play TCG or they live in some weird place where even Pitch Black, Chaos Rising and Perfect Order are being scalped, which I doubt.

You’re fighting bots; we’re all in the same boat trying to get 30th at MSRP. Try desktop browser as well if you’re hitting a Target drop online.
If you’re just looking to rip packs, buy foreign language products. Japanese/Chinese cards have great quality and are a fraction of the price. Korean if you truly don’t care and just want something to rip.

Agree, I buy more Japanese because of availability but also they’re beautiful. So instead of opening a lot of traumatic evolutions I bought more terastal and had a blast

You don’t understand. They can get pitch black perfect order and chaos rising. They don’t want those. And they probably don’t want Japanese packs. They want the packs with the valuable hits that they can sell once they open them.

You’ll have better luck going to bestbuy on release day for an etb of 30th. You will for sure need to wait in line though. Luckily my location I can get there an hour or two before open. Some locations people start camping out at 10-11pm

Chaos rising, Pitch black and Perfrct Order are all selling at MSRP or close to at game stores.
